guy started the post seems upbeat about the subject, but obviously one of those parents you don't want to sit by at a game. others chimed in as well decently, some of you seem to have your problems. i graduated from RFA, and football was good back then. maybe it will get back and maybe it won't. i'm 'associates' with a couple of the high school coaches, and they are decent for the most part. one in particular not so much. not naming names, but think he might be one of the ones posting 'negativity' in here. i heard of the 'dispute' last year, and if it is him, grow up. you are a gym teacher for Rome for crying out loud. you teach kids and have kids. i was debating to post this, but this is not the first time i've 'heard through the grapevine with him in this type of situation. he's decent to me and most adults, but many people know he carries a chip on his shoulder and shoots kids down. i have said too much. i bid you adieu.

Doherty by different names on multiple posts just like on Facebook ranting away. Feel bad for his son. So many parents like him is why Rfa sports are going downhill. So what he is good at JV but JV is JV not varsity level lets see how he does against the big dogs before we call the pros ok?
Parents? you want to blame a handful of semi-adequate parents? those type of parents/fans have always been around, and your philosophy is "they are why all rfa sports are going downhill." you're an idiot.

I played for RFA, under coach Swaves. He coached me in football, indoor, and out door track. The man is all heart and the coach I have the fondest memories of my time in RFA with. There isn't just one factor that plays into the team. You could have the best coach in the world but if the players heart isn't in to it or there isn't talent, it won't succeed. You can have the best players in the world and the worst coach and the same out come will happen. You need to support the team, support the coaches, and come together as a community. Yes, no one likes to loose, but honestly is winning really the only outcome that we want to get out of competitive team sports? No. Some of my best friends to this day I still have are from my time on the football field. All this negativity, bashing, and singling out'on, there is no need for it.

Okay stop the madness and give RFA a chance this year. I go to the games and it reminds me of how my high school football team was and that was horrible but its a new year and the talent looks grt . They have the Dougherty kid and rumor has it that the kid from last yrs modified team that averaged four touchdowns a game maybe joining varsity now he is a beast modified went undefeated. As far as parents encouraging thats what they should do show support for thier child and the team but dont interfere with the coaches play calling. RFA will get better in time but dont give up on your hometown school

Modified to varsity that's the problem right there they need to have something in between. 150 pound running backs in Class AA with no line blocking for them is going to make for a long season.

I will be there supporting the players, cheering them on. To those who have the nerve to bash a high school kid look back at your life. Hiding behind a computer shooting your mouth off. You must feel good about yourself to act like a idiot.

I believe rome will finish at .500 which will be a start in the right direction.Btw does anyone know who tht modified player is. He looks like he is in great shape and he was even quick on defense. Im telling you him and tht Dougherty kid are the future of RFA FOOTBALL
