I know that the past few years have not been proud RFA football years, but lets see how Swave's new offense & defense formations play out this year. He is going to the pistol O, which I think will give them a better opportunity, only because it gives the ball carriers more leway and options to make plays according to the defense...(due to poor coaching and play calling)And he is reformatting the defense to a 4 man line, 4 line backers, corner and 2 free safeties. This will also help the D when an assignment or coverage is blown...which we know will happen. At least there will be back up to stop big yardage plays or unnecessary tds. I know there are many strong opinions on why the program is failing, and alot of upset people/fans who want to be proud of the organization, but I think this is a good start...3yrs too late...but better late than never. The kids coming up know too well what has been going on the past few years, and don't want to carry on the same losing tradition of their predecessors. They have sat in the stands and watched the dismal seasons, and want no part of that. They are hungry and ready to help turn the program around. My son will be coming up early this year (against my better judgement) and help in any way he can. He is dedicated and works very hard. Let's give this year a chance and show our support by showing up and not getting too down on them. Even though it's easy to say,'it's the kids', a good coach can motivate even the laziest kids. Parents and community are also a factor in motivation with these young teens. We wouldn't want to show up for work every day if all we heard was how bad we sucked...our performances would drop drastically and some would even quit their job. So, as frustrated as we are, or however some of you have 'written off' RFA Football, come on back and show your support and lift up the community...instead of drilling it to the ground with negativity. To a good and safe season...

My experience with Swave is that his heart and mind are in it 100%, he's just not any good at it, bottom line. But I will suck it up if there are significant changes being made, I will be there for home games.

If the person went by "Parent", and his name is "Doherty", wouldn't that mean his AKA was "Parent"? What a touch hole "Johny B". lmfao

All you people are idiots. So what if your kid is better than the other at pissing farther. Kids are kids, let them be. If a mother or father is proud of them, LET THEM BE ABLE TO ANOUNCE IT. You all seem a bit immature.

RFA football used to be about PRIDE. Now it's about arguing? I commend the coaches, fans, parents, and most of all the KIDS who give up there time, and bodies for that one game a week, for 7-10 games a year. For all the gear bought and all the cold nights watching. THANK YOU. For all the rest of you MF's...go F urself!

I wonder why 4 linebackers and only 1 DB. What will they do when teams line up with 3 wr and spread them out. I would like to see them go with the old 5-2 defence with speed at the ends.

it is a defense that 'depends'...or 'expects' blown assignments. it works with lesser alert defenses

Who really gives a shit, let's give these kids a chance.
I've seen ZERO WIN teams in college make it to the playoffs the next year.

its a 'man' coverage. lbs & safeties move into position to cover

The original post stated 2 safeties and only 1 corner, and that would be horrible match up wise. A real 4-4 with 1 safety should help the kids be competitive this year. I wish them luck.

Doherty by different names on multiple posts just like on Facebook ranting away. Feel bad for his son. So many parents like him is why Rfa sports are going downhill. So what he is good at JV but JV is JV not varsity level lets see how he does against the big dogs before we call the pros ok?

I coached his kids farm team years ago. he was a good kid from what i remember. his dad attended practices and games, and pushed him, which is more than i can say for a lot of parents these days. i see too many parents not involved in there childs everyday life, and people wonder why they dont reach their full potential. if it is him that posted this, i read the same stuff you did, sorry i just don't see it. as a matter of fact, the only ranting and calling out i see is you. sounds to me like you have some sort of personal grudge against them to be acting the way you are. guess this is the place people can say what ever they want and get away with it. have fun with that.

I have personally heard Doherty and many others do way more than push their kids. I have also been through the city programs and these parent coaches are pros on the sidelines and always know more than the real coaches. It is no surprise when kids question a coach when a coach pushes them when daddy is at home telling them the coach is incompetent. You all live through your children and push them in the wrong way. How about teaching respect and hardwork for a team instead of the individual. So they work out at the Y what about team unity? When I played we were together that doesn't happen anymore. My dad would never question my coach but question my work ethic. If your kid gets blown out by proctor was it bad plays or kids who were afraid to get hit! I was at the game and I could smell their fear from the stands!

I am a junior on the varsity team, playin as senior next year. I am tired of the team and coach Swavely bein bashed all of the time. There is a handful of us that do work hard and care. Brad is a team player, and works hardest than alot of kids. I always see him respect every1 around him specially the coaches. Not kewl to bash coaches and kids on a team u say u supprt. About us suckin we learn alot from coach and some of us give it all we can out there. Some times it just doesnt all come together. RFA!!!!!!!!!!
