Mr Mayor, which is it?
In 2011 Joseph R Fusco Jr, candidate for Rome's highest elected office insisted the position of public safety commissioner could and would be assumed by him. The self- proclaimed 24/7 mayor would be resigned in as Cemtery superintendent and full time lead the city and save money while working hard to keep businesses form pulling up stakes in Rome.
Then reports circulated the newly elected mayor was canvassing prominent attorneys in the city and in some cases, begged an individual to assume the role.
Today a new individual begins the job, a retired state police officer. New first name anyway. Spouse of codes employee maintaining the family plan hiring practice which Rome holds onto dearly with both hands.
New hire refers to the first day as " baptism under fire" - as Rome seeks to solve the recent homicides.
"Baptism under Fire"? Or I would suggest more appropriate , " April Fool".

So which is it Mr Mayor? Necessary to fill the position because you can't do the public safety job, or because you don't work full time, or because your pursuit of the office of mayor was your egotistical drive and conquest to win an election but have since become bored and have just no idea or interest in developing a plan to help a city on the brink of extinction.

Mike Grande will last about 3 months. He's an opportunist and will not be able to handle being associated with Fusco for long

Mike, I have to say, I am totally disappointed in you that you would lower yourself to be in this criminal's administration. I want to believe that you just weren't thinking straight. I worked with you several years ago.

I think mike will do a fine job. why the question and bashing about his size? He's a good man and a professional law officer. Mike is smarter than most and there shouldn't be any question about his qualifications. Personally I think that this is one of the mayors best appointments.
