Does anyone know where a good place is around here to take my kids sledding? I know the place in Taberg is fun but I don't want to always pay to have fun with my kids. Just looking for somewhere decent so they can have a good time. Any suggestions?

There's the hill at corner of Rt365 and Rickmeyer Road -or- the hill about 100 yards down Elmer Hill Road from the corner of Rt46.

the hill on elmer hill rd is usually accesible to those who want to go sliding, the farmer usually takes down a small section of the fence for kids to go sliding he has done so for quite a few years now.

The one on Elmer Hill Road hasn't been good in a few years. They still take the fence down to get in but the trees and brush are too overgrown. It is nothing like it used to be.

Whatever one heads directly into traffic is the one I suggest you go down.

That would be one at RT365 and Rickmeyer which someone rudely reported as being posted even though it gets daily usage by several families.

Rickmeyer Rd, right on 365. Parson's Hill.

PS- Parson's Hill is okay to go sledding on as long as you aren't destructive and you are responsible. My neighbor owns the property & my friends and I use it all the time without trouble.

Posted too. It's very dangerous to sled there - I know a couple of kids who got their face ripped up from going through the fence.

When I was a kid, we used the hill at the local high school. That hill no longer exists. I then hit the elementary school to find out the hill that they used to have has been sold to the town millionaire. Soooo.. Ive been taking my kid all the way to Whitestown park on Gibson Road, off of Westmoreland Road because I havent found anything decent in Rome. Open and windy = cold. lol There should be a park somewhere around here that has a hill that can be used for sledding. I didnt think the hills at Lee Town park were steep enough.
