I am not clear why they have to be iPads....why can't they just have the agenda's emailed to them...and then use their own device to either bring them in electronic format or print them on their own?
It sounds like the taxpayer will be responsible for the purchase and maintenance of the iPads. What will the liability be for the councilors? Will they have to pay for repairs/replacement caused by their negligence? i.e. it gets stolen while in their posession; they drop it in the pool; their kid/grandkid does a number on it
I am all for going "paperless" where printing and mailing copies to concerned parties is involved. Make it available electronically and if an individual wants to print it off, they must do so at their own cost. What's wrong with that? Saves paper and money and doesn't cost the taxpayer a dime...unless they want a paper copy that is.
iPads from taxpayer funds? idon't think so.
