I was told that they would provide me free energy forEVER without a change in rates, only what NYSEG charges for piping the power. Well I am getting charged monthly from this company. A scam. A ripoff. And I will be going back to NYSEG.
Riiiiight sure they did. Nobody out there, not even a desperate employee of theirs, would promise you "free engery forever."

<quoted text>I'm sure they did make that promise. Gee for someone who seems to know everything about every subject I am sure you would know that these days lying is a sales tactic to get people to sign up then. If they realize they were lied to, they cancel and get hit with a cancelation fee, or as I like to call it, an Uh oh were busted but were still gonna try to make some money off you anyways and if you do not pay, we will ruin your credit fee.
Oh, I don't doubt they lied, I'd just be extremely shocked if they lied that blatantly. But you're right, lying is the norm in any advertising these days. Hell, come to think of that penis pump sure didn't work as advertised!!!!

I remember in one case they came to my door (shortly before I asked if they'd like to help clean my rifle collection ... weird how they left after that ...) and I let them spiel for a moment. In retrospect I seem to remember them saying something really moronic like "reduced cost energy for the rest of your life, free of charge" or some crap. Kind of verbal hurdle to trick people. Maybe it was something along those lines, or maybe some idiot employee really did say exactly that. Hell, I wish I had been the one that got that. I'd love to have that recorded. Imagine the beautiful settlement?(If you can't beat the frivolous lawsuit club, join 'em ... why not. I used to think otherwise but these days I'm starting to think those slip-n-fall types might just have the right of it.)

I had a similar ESCO telemarketer call, and I suspect they are a scam. The caller advertised that she represented "ENERGY CHOICE ASSISTANT" that can help reduce your energy bill. She launched right into asking personal information which I refused to give without further info. When I requested to see a website (none appears to exist), obtain the company phone number, or simply seek how the company gets paid for their services, I did not get a straight answer. When I asked to talk to the manager, the line eventually went dead.

So beware!

I'm definitely calling the better business bureau tomarrow on this scam. I don't normally fall for this sort of thing but the girl that came to my door was very convincing. Since then my monthly bill has doubled. How am I living in a two bedroom apartment and having a monthly bill of over $200. This is the worst scam for me seeing I'm a single mother and struggling as it is. Im getting my lawyer involved tomarrow and hoping to do my best to make sure this disgraceful company will never do this again to anyone!

Citizen's Choice representative stopped by my apartment and offered me a discount on my National Grid electricity bill. They promised rebates in the mail and a lower electricity bill, making it seem like she was affiliated with National Grid. I gave them my information, you know, just to save a few bucks. National Grid mailed me a note saying that there was a pending switch to Citizen's Choice as my electricity provider. So I called them and told them that was not true, and they put a block on my account from ever having that happen again. Scumbags..

I think Top Dog is the ignorant idiot here.(So to use such harsh words) I bet you dont recognize sarcasm either.
#1 Christian DID have a 4th of all. 3rd of all was that they were from Syracuse and 4th of all was "and it's not our faults that we did not have reception. I guess you didn't notice it because it wasn't conveniently numbered for you.
#2 The company Citizens Choice is not a scam. They in deed are a legit company. If energy companies are a scam then why are they still running years later after all these comments on the internet?
#3 I would bet my ass that Christian makes a shit load more money that you could ever make!
#4 Someone else make a comment about the delivery charge going up when you have a esco. THAT IS FALSE. Call your Utility and ask them.
#5 The only frustration that people are really expressing is that of the attitude of the reps that try to sign households. They can sometimes be pushy. But that is that individual rep. Citizens choice does a complete background check on all their reps.
#6 What is wrong with a variable rate? You've had a variable rate with your utility since forever!

I signed up with them. My bill has been going up and up. NYSEG is still charging for delivery and Citizens choice charges for the electricity. With NYSEG I was paying both at the same time for a low price, now its almost double!!! Citizens Choice charged me nothing one month and then they stuck about $90 in the following month.
I don't know if they have cheaper rates or whatever. I only know what is appearing on my bill and its very clear that it's been becoming more expensive month by month by having 2 companies charging me.
And before you ask, no, my consumption has not doubled with respect to last year.
On my part however, the rep was very polite, identified himself and gave good customer service. That I can congratulate them on.

How did the Public utility commissions become beholden to this open choice kind of a system anyway? Why doesn't the old way of delivery still work for customers? Yes they are monopolies but the government oversees them and sets controls. With commission officials you can vote them out but when business eventually gets total control on the philosophical point of free enterprise what the customer is going to get eventually is higher prices without any recourse. You can't vote the companies then to go away, you'll be stuck with them and how they wish to run the industry.

Citizens Choise Energy is one of the best supplier, I have been saving. I got a phone call and I accepted, so, they asked me the account number and they explained me about the program. I'm very happy with them. Nothing change on your bill, they're are an authorized supplier in almost all the electricity companies, they work with ConE, National Fuel, National Grid, Nyseg, etc. They name appears on every authorized supplier list in the electricities companies. Before choosing or accepting any supplier, I recommend to find out on internet about that company, there are too many scams. With Citizen's Choise Energy, there is no enrollment, cancellation fee, if you're not sas with the price, you can cancell at any time. Good luck guys.
I know this game all to well. Your not a customer, your an employee, never had a customer in my experience spoke so impeccably about this company, you just started things that the people that work there don't even know lmao

Pay your bill!!! Come on lady!!! Grow up!!!
why do you knock at the door and say "we are from the power company"?
You don't say we are from Citizen's Choice, you say THE POWER COMPANY, because you know people will assume you mean THE power company that most people use (aka National Grid). They knock at my door and say that, and I just respond "Which power company?". It's almost comical watching them stand there open mouthed not sure what to say.

If you were so 'legit', you would be up front and honest about who you are and what company you represent, instead of acting shady.
