Well your mayor proved once again what an blubbering idiot he is. Read his whole speech, stumbled over words constantly, simple words. The saddest parts were when he tried to read "big" numbers. 3500 was read as 3 thousand 500 thousand. For crying out loud, kids in 3rd grade learn how to read it correctly. At least 4 times he said numbers wrong. Absolutely butchered the English language. Very pathetic, Rome, very pathetic!

Yeah it was quite the comedy show all right. I noticed also that his wife wasn't there and unless I missed it he did not acknowledge his wife or his "assistant". That's pretty thoughtless. Was surprised how few staffers were there considering the email that went out. Some dept heads but that was it. My wife couldn't take it about 2/3 of the way thru and left. Lots of people did, actually, and they all just shook their heads as they walked out.

I was there and it was both well attended and more professional than any of the robotic Brown addresses. During the Brown era people were afraid of stopping to clap first in the risk of being fired, and the lack of free speech. Good Job Mayor Fusco, good Riddence BrownClowns.

He probably should have stayed home and continued to plant more shrubs in his yard like he did all day. At least then he could have truthfully claimed he did something useful

Professional??? That's almost funny!! It was totally a Mickey Mouse production. So juvenile it was appropriate having it in a grade school. Most of the audience was made up of parents of the children who were. "Used" by this idiot, and the rest were employees who were threatened by their supervisors. He never addressed the "pictures" he had hanging behind him, and he just talked in circles while criticizing the previous administrations. He's an idiot who is in so far over his head he doesn't know what to do. Professional, that is so absurd !! Who are you? Brandong or the lawyer wannabe??!

The use of children performers to fill an audiance was brilliant! Sadly they and their supporters left after the show. There were 140 chairs in the room, only 40 had bodies in them after the familys left. That left the room full of city employees, school district bodies, news people and the other 20 who received high honors and awards for donating a can of food. There was not one coherant thing said, and at times it was clear he didn't even know what the hell he was saying. This mayor is not only cognitivly damaged, he is downright mentally ill. His petition to the school district is an abomination and downright abuse of his powers! Please, is there a doctor in the house, this man is not well!!!

WHAT THE HELL SPEECH DID YOU ATTEND. What you related or are you Joe's public relations manager. FLOWERS! That was his big thing. Freaking flowers appears to be his major concern. He was a bumbling idiot who could not read his own speech. 5 will get you 10 he did not even write it. It sounds like some drunk or a freaking moron wrote that dribble. It might have made sense to who ever wrote it, but the person delivering it sounded like a complete boob, and the audience kept snickering at that dribble. The only reason some of us city employee were there, we were told we had to be there. So freaking try and sober up before you come on here and spout that crap. It was a waste of time and air to sit there and listen to that idiot. If what he was saying was the state of this city then we are in freaking more trouble than we suspected.

River dancing children? Maybe at a school talent show but not at the State of the City forum. Many of the “accomplishments” cited by our “mayor” were achieved by members of the Community & Economic Development department, put in motion long ago and without assistance from our “mayor.” Waterfront development is moving forward after the Common Council staunchly opposed our “mayor’s” attempt at revising the plans and putting everything back to square 1. Main Street Alliance is responsible for advancements in the 400 block of North James Street, not the administration. What about the Stephanie Eisenberg site? Old City Hall was put into the hands of a competent group with resistance from our “mayor” along the way. Lemon Meringue Pie? The kindness of that woman is admirable but a story about lemon meringue pie doesn’t have a place in the State of the City address. Christmas decoration restoration? Ditch the restoration and focus on restoring businesses and jobs. Our mayor cited that housing foreclosures are on the increase; that must have been copy/pasted from last year’s speech; foreclosures are currently of the decline nationwide. Did I hear “yous” and “liberry?” Good point above regarding the mayor’s rendition of $3500. This stuff is better than TV! On the bright side we only have 2 more State of the City addresses to suffer through before we have a new mayor.

You're a very bitter Brown supporter. Thank you Mayor Fusco. Keep up the tremendous job you are doing. Don't let the brick oven pizza get to you. It's awful.

yea and your vibrator must be on full blast if you think Fusco is a good anything. You can't name one thing he has done on his own that has led to advancement to this city. He has cost us jobs, lost businesess, hired his cronies, raised our taxes, slapped gold star mothers and our vets in the face, tried to loose state money because he is to stupid to look beyond his nose. What city are you living in? His personal action, and media inteviews makes Rome look like a bunch of fools, and you think he is doing a wonderful job? You are a bigger nim rod than he is. How could you come up with that? What he slipping you some under the conference table too. You really should seek mental healt treatment if you seriously think he is doing a great job.

The majority of Rome's population isnt bright enough to realize how sophomoric that speech sounded. I've heard better speeches from high school students.

I dont understand why everyone who comments negatively about Mayor Fusco is automatically called a Brown supporter. I did not care for Brown and I still think Fusco is incompetent at best. He shows himself to be in way over his intelligence level. Because someone points out a failure on Fuscos part does not mean they area Brown supporter. Im quite sure that a great number of them are disappionted Fusco supporters, and im sure there are many of them. Probably a number of embarrassed relatives also.
