You shouldn't judge people you don't know. Chuck was a father and grandfather. Did he have a criminal background? Yes. Did he do some things he and others may not have been proud of? Yes again. He was still a human being and was shot to death in his own home! His daughters no longer have parents and their children no longer have grandparents because Chuck's wife died a few years ago too. Have some decency for others and keep your negative comments to yourself. I'm sure if you were murdered you and your family wouldn't appreciate someone talking trash about you online.
He was a rat and a thief. As far as the human element is concerned I think he lacks in that respect. Rats are not human!!

Some people have problems, some people have the strength and support to solve theirs while others struggle their whole lives it. Coming from somebody very close to the situation I can say that some of your thoughts and opinions are correct while others arnt. Some of your opinions are very nice and sympathetic while others are rude and nasty. Cathy and Chuck both had a drug problem. They were aware they did and they seeked helped several times and relocated several times to get away from it. Unfortunately, their problem always found them and they weren't strong enough to stay away. Did their kids suffer due their problem? of course they did. But were they bad parents? Not always. They loved and cared for their kids. Their kids knew they had a problem and they cried to their kids and apologized for what they went through. Family and love is an extraordinary thing. Their kids understood, and although they wont forget, they forgave. After cathys death Chuck had to much guilt inside of him for his past he wanted to die. He went off the deep end and fell more into his problem. He went to jail for a DWI. NOT DRUGS, A DWI. While in jail his kids visited him, why? because they loved him, he was all they had left. He was clean, sober, and living a healthy life after he was released from jail. His kids loved being him in this way. His GRANDCHILDREN, who were his world, and are too little to know what has happened and was going on loved him. "papa! papa!" Is what you heard when they saw his house or his face, a photo, or put the phone to their ear. Now, like his children, they don't have him. Yes, Chuck got back into drugs after being clean for a while. He didn't want to live that life and signed himself into a crisis center and went to rehab at the beginning of this year that not many people know about, he was ashamed that relapsed. Shortly after getting out he relapsed. He would cry, he was depressed, he didn't want to live that life but it always found him. He made bad decisions, hes done bad things, but that's what everyone wants to dwell on. Let his family remember remember the good times, their trips to the beach, cookouts, water balloon fights with the kids and trips to the park. After living the life they have arnt they owed that?

I know it's hard hearing all the negative people say, but remember that most people who live in glass houses cast their stone cause it makes them feel better about themselves! No family is perfect! We all have problems! Im sorry people are judgmental and don't have the common decency to stop to think of how their words can be hurtful and disrespectful:( eventhough this is an awful tradegy and chuckle didn't have the best reputation he raised to wonderful girls! It just goes to show positive can overcome the negative! At the end of the day these a$$holes are miserable cause they came from shit ! And surprise surprise they still are shit! Who probably feel sorry for themselves cause they couldn't overcome their shitty hand life dealt them.. So don't let these cockroaches upset you:) they. Sling on the bottom of your shoe ...

Honey, if you think your stupid post and the legacy of Chuck and Cathy are "positive that will overcome the negative", you are probably on just as much dope as they were. But since you got nasty and went there, I'll play. Yes people have problems, but a LOT of people choose NOT to get on illegal drugs, steal, get arrested, get fired from their jobs for stealing, pretend to be disabled when everyone knows they are not, smoke in front of a daughter that has severe asthma and had to be hospitalized numerous times, shall I go on ? Yeah, we all make misakes in judgment. But nobody *I* know has ever done anything like that. So before you come back and sling more mud, calling people names and think you are actually making an intelligent argument, stick that in your crack pipe and smoke it.

Yes, his family should mourn him and remember the good times. Unfortunately, I think the reason why people are dwelling on the negative side of Chuck is because he had a negative impacted on people, obviously, from the posts. Chuck did that to himself, and sadly to his family. That is the legacy he left. That does not make it right for whoever that did this to him to make THEIR bad decision and choices by any means, and I do hope that justice is served for the family's sake.

It's unfortunate, but that's the world we live in. The actual shooter is known by people in the Rome community, but no one wants to rat him out.
How do u know that the shooter is known by Rome People? And if you know this, why dont YOU go to the police.?
The Deceased was a poor excuse as a father, his wife was also into drugs, he was a theif, and drug user and a low life living off the system. We all choose our fate in life.
