My mother at 73 years old purchased a 2001 grand cherokee jeep at Uvanni car dealers in Rome.As she works everyday as a home health care provider she thought finally a vehical that will get me to work everyday. At $15,000 and not aware what she just got herself into, turned into a disaster!!!!$200 for a tow due to a $800 blown head casket,$348 for brakes, calapors and roters,$300 for ball joints,$300 fan moters for the jeep to bake down aagain!!!! She then learned that the rubber around window needed to be replaced, computerchip bad at $600,and last but not least motor making loud noise that mechanic says is bad! She has called everyday to have them make this right, only to get no reply! I am literally appalled by the indifference display toward my mother by Uvanni car dealer in Rome N.Y !!!!!!!Disgusting business!!!!!

That happens once or twice a week there, its just easier for them to do it to older folks,I heard that Gary robbed an old guy that works there for 7500,five years ago for bike that he never got.Rite now he has a mentally slow guy working there for fifty bucks a week that puts in about 60 hours and gets paid under the table, plus they make fun of him. Sorry to hear about your mom but thats the way they treat people there.

For all that stuff on your old lady's car to go like that she must have not ever changed fluids or taken any care of it at all. She should blame herself for being old fuddy duddy.

How was Gary going to give her money back? It already went up his nose within a week of the sale no doubt! And if she's a "hot" 73 years old, I'll lay you 2 to 1 that he hit on her!

In my experience, they are some very sexist dudes. I've not even considered buying a vehicle from the bums, as they're all overpriced. I'm sorry your mother fell prey to these bahstids.

How long did the Blue hair own the Jeep. I just cant see all these problems happening the day after purchase. There is also a lemon law.Did you read your paper work when you purchases the vehicle. A used car dealer can only warranty a vehicle a certain amount of time. They cant warranty the life of the car. If it was within the warranty period you have an issue with the dealer. The best way to deal with the problem is to contact the motor vehicle dept and file a complaint. The last thing a dealer wants to sell in Rome Ny is a lemon. Word travels fast in a little town like Rome. I dont think you did your home work on purchasing this Jeep, 15000 for a 2001 is way over priced!!!!

Please. Uvanni is famous for his criminal ways. Some guy actually picketed outside of his business a few years back because Gary screwed him over so badly. Instead of trying to work it out, Uvanni just tried to get him arrested. When you list a 3 year old car at a higher price than they are selling NEW, you obviously don't have the best business practices. The guy is a dickbag.

The person buying the vehicle is a moron. If you are buying a vehicle at a higher price than a new one then you need some help. How is that the dealers problem. When you spend money, especially for a car ,you do your home work!!
I just cant believe people with buyers remorse. There is enough information on what a car is worth on the Internet. There are just to many idiots in this world. JUST LOOK AT WHO THEY VOTED FOR PRESIDENT!

Whether or not the person buying the car is a moron or not is irrelevant. The point is that listing a used car at such an outrageous price is unethical and morally reprehensible. Just because you CAN take advantage of someone doesn't make it okay. Besides, the original post was about how the car was a lemon. No one "complained" about buying a car well above market price; I simply pointed out the fact that it was done.

I find it disturbing that you would defend the right to be underhanded and immoral because the "buyer should beware." I bet you're the type who thinks a girl asks to get raped if her skirt is too short or people who get mugged on the street should have known better because they were in the "wrong" neighborhood. Bad choices don't justify bad behavior, regardless of your judgmental kind of reasoning.

this is very interesting. I wonder has your mother/you gone to better business bureau? I remember one person who was sold a lemon by another local dealer and had a giant sign made and parked infront of dealership. Try that.

If this is for real why not try that? I would be there every day. Also, when did the purchase take place? An 01 is 8 yrs old. No one in their right mind would pay 15 grand for an 8 yr old car (vehical as you spelled it) I drove the lot tonight there wasnt a car on there older than a 04. How about you scan the bill of sale and post it? Post the vin and I will do a car fax.

Have you tried arbitration? I dotn think you are being truthful...

I can come on here and say "I bought X at Y business" who is going to see the proof?

There is more than one way to skin a cat.We have to assume what was said during the deal because we were not there.Knowing their reputation they could have changed things ten times confussing the hell out of her.Its just too bad.

Are you serious. Gooch is a little punk.Lets not even go there again. You must have read all his positive post. Lets get back to the issue.
"Typical" I don't understand your logic. How do you relate buying a car to rape. The buyer should beware. A dealer can put any price he wants on a used vehicle. The bottom line is you can negotiate a price with the dealer. IF you both AGREE on a price, you make a deal. Anyone in the right mind would do some research on what the vehicle is worth before buying it. I dont think this women was underhanded. I think she just might be stupid just like her son. They negotiated a price she agreed and they made a deal! I just dont think they are sating all the facts. I think she was upside down on her trade and she ended up financing 15000. If that was my son helping me on a car deal I would kick his ass!

My point is that just because she may not be a Rocket Science doesn't make him any less of a scumbag for taking advantage of her OR her son. Also, I am not equating a bad car deal to rape. I am saying that it is a blame the victom mentality along those lines. Obviously, getting a bad deal on a car is nowhere near the level of Rape.

Besides, they weren't complaining sbout the price. They were complaining that the car was a lemon. Rather than going to the BBB (who everybody seems to ignore) they should check to see if they are covered by the NYS Lemon Law.

How is it taking advantage of someone. They both agreed on the deal. He didnt force her to sign anything. This is not a socialist society yet. If she makes another bad car deal the obama admministration might rescue her. I think the only valid point you have made is she needs to check if the car is covered under NYS lemon law.

How many different ways can I say this? I am not saying that she is not at fault for making a bad deal. That is her responsibilty. HOWEVER, he has a responsibility too. Just because she made a stupid choice does not make it okay for him to rip people off. Period.
