Let's see:

The Oneida Indian Nation will buy both Rome and Griffiss. They will establish an oil refinery on the base, as well as cigarette and cigar manufacturing. They will actually develop and run the 'International Airport', and air cargo will finally become a reality in the area.

Along the canal, the solar boat business will boom, creating an additional 5,000 jobs.

Welfare rolls will drop to unprecedented all-time lows, as people develop a sense of pride, self-worth and work ethic. The prisons will close, be bulldozed, and the land reclaimed for organic vegetable and fruit farming.

Uticans will despair and, in their jealous rage, tear down their silly UTICA sign, since it cannot compete with the perpetual rainbow shining over the wondrous land of Rome, NY.

How's that?

Compare it to 5 years ago... Are we better now? More new businesses, better arts support, and changing of the old guard.

Still a long way to go, but if we stop with the negativity and promote the positive then perhaps that effect will pick up some speed.

Very well could be. I know 49% of Oneida county is. Staggering statistic.
