Townsend Auto Sales

This is more or less a review of Townsend auto sales and my experience.
I was looking at a car an 04 Buick Lesabre (yeah I hope they remember me) The taller guy who delt with me was very helpful up front and even got me approved through his financial institute. I was there looking at the car on Feb 22 2014. I didn't muddle over much about the car other than I personally liked the 3800 L36 Engine in it and liked all the features of the car.
I was told I could not test drive it right then but would be able to monday the 24th (it needed a new strut). They offered me a 2 year warranty and I said I was concerned about the high payments. He told me the payments could be lowed by foregoing the warranty. Me and my wife just looked at each other and told him we needed to think about it. He said well if you do forgo the warranty that he could throw in a month warranty from him personally. We told him we felt that was fair because if anything major was going to go it would be in the first 30 days of driving the car. We left to think a bit more and shop around.
After some thought we went back to test drive it. We did everything normal that goes with buying a car. Now here's the real kicker. After he had done all the paper work and put it through and everything was signed we reiterated about the month warranty he offered on saturday. He told us "No I cannot offer a month warranty it is illegal for me to".
The company that financed us even thought this sounded weird and after escalating it through them they decided to penalize him. This did nothing to benefit me because it's not like they added the money towards the principal. I still owe the same amount. There is some small satisfaction in knowing he won't get his full commission from it though.
Not after only a week the transmission started up-shifting hard (after 5 minutes on google I found the problem to be a faulty Pressure control solenoid. GM even released a service bulletin about it.) I made them aware of the problem but they basically said I was SOL. Then I noticed a small coolant odor while driving. Yeah it was the LIM and UIM gaskets leaking.
Other than those problems the car was good. I have since installed a shift kit that bypasses the electronic tranny from going into high pressure mode from the faulty solenoid and it works fairly well.
I had to purchase about 250 bucks worth of gaskets and the UIM to fix the other problem. Now the car runs and drives like any 3800 should.
I posted this as a word of warning to anyone looking into their cars. Listen to about 1/2 of what they say and believe 1/4th. They other brother isn't as crooked as the taller guy. But I would be wary of anyone who does business this way.
You would be better off going to another dealer. His financial institution is accepted a lot of other reputable dealers and they will offer you a better deal.
I still pay for the car because I pay my bills and acknowledge that believing the guy wasn't a crook and taking his word is my own fault.
I just don't want to see another person get screwed by this business.
Hope this helps someone else.
Oh and if one of those guys read this please know I will be in the process of filing a suit against you. After all and "as is" contract is not a defense to defrauding someone so that kind of shoots your little defense you idiots like to use to shit.
Sad thing is all I wanted was for them to pay for the solenoid and I would install it.$79.99 for the napa one would have been the decent thing to do since it was only a week later I complained of this. It may have saved you guys a law suit.

I also have had a not so good experience with them. The taller fellow is extremely shady and tried to lie to me about a number of things... Most likely because I am a young (20 year old) female that doesn't have a lot of knowledge about cars. But after discussing with my step father what the gentleman shared with me about the car I was interested in, my step dad informed me that two of the parts he claimed needed fixing didn't even exist on the particular standard car and he was asking $2000 more than it kelly blue booked for and the car had a salvage title!!!! I would never purchase a car from them, ever. When my step dad went to look at the car with me, there was a crack in the frame of the car, the oil was like sludge and literally had dirt in it, there were shards of glass all over the seats in the back and trunk area (suv) and the tires on the car were the wrong size and ground against the body of the car when making sharp turns!!! And the dealer tried to entice me by telling me the car had brand new all season tires.(Which I was excited about until I test drove it and found that out) like really? And I kid you not... He informed me that before I purchase the car.. He would have to have air bags put in!(Which is how I found out the car had been totaled) mind you, I had asked if the car had ever been in any accidents and he said "not that I'm aware of". Scummy.

They tried to rob me also but I didn't fall for it and by law unless the car has over 100000 miles or is over ten yrs old they have to give you a 30 day warranty and it's covered under the lemon law
