I hate you guys, especially the police officer, so cruel and racist. You guys treat people like animals. Learn the definition of humanity. You discriminate, especially people from out of states. I will never visit Rome, Georgia and I will pass it on, "Stay away from Rome, Georgia," there is no humanity in them. I hate you!

Maybe I see everything all in white and never thought someone close to me would experience anything black. He is a very good kid, never got himself in trouble with the law, just a ticket here and a ticket there for speeding but it wasn't extreme or anything. Even forgot to pay his ticket and got his license suspended but seriously, is that a very big crime to be treated like animals in Georgia?

He never killed, never stole, never did drugs, never did anything that would offended anyone, never got a criminal record.

I don't think he had ever experience anything horrifying in his life but there in Georgia, it was more than that. Up here in New York, I actually believe it is much more humane now, safer even. Maybe even the criminals are less deadly than the officers down in Georgia.

They don't care what you did, getting a ticket for speeding or getting your license suspended, you are going to get treated the same way as any murderers, sexual offenders, and robbers. Locked up in a frozen cold jail 24 hours without bail,(which doubled for New Yorkers), until that 24 hours is up, transported to different cells after cells, than to the very basement to be stripped naked so you can freeze to death or appease their sick minds. How are they who are sick minded and discriminating allowed to even become officers of the law and treat people like animals? How come they are allowed to do that? How come the law there allows such things to happen to someone so nice?

It hurts to have something like that happen to someone so good. To even believe such treatment is allowed and really do exist in the U.S. I am quite ashamed. Maybe I am too naive about the world and thought things like this only happens in the movie, just like him who also thought things like this only happens in movies.

It nearly brought him to tears and it nearly brought me to tears just hearing about it. It is an awful experience but now we know bad things can happen to good people from people who are suppose to be good.

I now don't care much for Rome, Georgia just like I don't care much for officers of the law. The way they treat people makes them very much the criminals they try to catch. They are no different. I would never visit Rome, Georgia. I fear something like this might happen to me. Unlike him, I would surely cry my eyes out. I am too scared. T_T

Well, I for one want to thank you for not coming to Rome. I wonder if your boyfriend told you the whole story? Sounds like he was caught doing something to be arrested for. It also sounds like he embellished his stay here a little bit.

Well, DISSAPOINTED It sounds as if your boy friend has some issues especially with authority. It appears speeding tickets and tickets here and there, also not paying tickets (which will lead to bench warrant being issued) has led to other problems. I'm sure you don't know the truth or you are manufacturing false accusations against the Rome Police. I live in another city quite a distance from Rome (i have been visiting Rome for 45 plus years even lived in Rome for 3 yrs)and have always been treated with respect. I also treated them with respect in my dealings with them. I had dealings with the Rome Police, Floyd County Sheriff Dept, and the Ga Hwy. patrol. Your boy friend probably needs an attitude adjustment.

There is a lot to hate about Rome, Georgia. Like the amount of uneducated young girls running around spreading thier legs to every Tom, Dick and DeShawn around. The police? Still have the good old mentality around here. Some things will never change in the South. If your beau got his/her head knocked around here it was probably because he/she deserved it. Thats just the way things work around these parts. Word of advice, don't come back here.

OK lets see. Person gets ticket and forgets to pay said ticket. How do you forget to pay a ticket. The due date is right there on the front of the ticket. I am betting "forgot to pay" was actually "didn't want to pay". A suspended license is a crime. Do we need separate jails for those with suspended licenses? A crime is a crime is a crime. Doesn't matter what you get arrested for, you go to jail... When you go to jail, they strip search you. When you go to jail, it is not meant to be a stay at a Holiday Inn. You are being punished for breaking the law...I am no saint as I have been in the jail in Rome a few times and I was treated as well as is expected for a criminal..I was never treated like an animal.. The food sucked but it is jail and not a Disney resort...I am just guessing here, but it looks like someone got in trouble and then was not man enough to be responsible for their actions...I lived in Rome for almost 40 years but moved almost 5 years ago to be closer to my job. Rome may not a perfect town but I am betting it is better than any town in New York....
