Yes, because women without tattoos who are approaching 60 are often regarded as little hotties!???
Sorry, but 30 years later, how much difference is that tattoo really going to make?

Any personal choice can have public rarefactions. When a person varies greatly from the norm then they are viewed circumspectly. I try really hard not to have preconconcieved notions of others but when a quick appraisel of a person is a must, first instincts are important.
This is 2013...so what is the norm? I agree that first instincts are important. Sometimes that second look can reveal a really great person. There is a difference between judging an individual on their PERSONAL LOOK and accepting their choice. Not all people with tats are nasty and lowlifes. I have met many clean, nice looking people who are Real lowlifes! Can't judge a book by it's cover! peaceout sammigirl

I got my first one at age 52. I'm now 64, and have 6. All of them Still look great, and if one is to believe my husband and friends, so do I! At my age, I couldn't give a rats ass what anyone thinks. Wish I would have started earlier! My husband is 67 and has had his since his military days. They also still look great. Not everyone is going to have tats that look bad as they grow older.

I hired 3 people in my liquor store last week. When they interviewed 5 came in for the interview, 2 had tattoos all over them.As soon as they walked in the door, they were NOT considered for the job.I simply told them, thank you for coming in for the interview, We have filled the job, the next young lady that came in was clean, dressed nice and someone I would want MY CUSTOMERS to see at the register, not some painted up clown. So employers DO LOOK AT TATTOOS>

That's discrimination.

First of all you would not be hired on your lack of communication skills. Good grammar and sentence is included in that category.

Good grammar and sentence structure are included. See I recognized my error just as I recognizes yours which you will never find in yours. That's because you don't know any better than to write "I seen".

That's OK Louis! We all make mistakes! tfreddy42 you just keep posting! Everyone has a right to comment! You are correct! It is discrimination. I understand that an employer wants to hire an employee who looks respectable. Good business practice and all that. But if a person is clean, honest, and educated enough for the job, and just happens to have INK, they should not be discriminated against! peaceout sammigirl

I did't say he wasn't eligible to post on topix.:-)

I was talking about job qualifications.

If we were disqualified from posting on topix because of spelling and grammar errors, I'm afraid whoever was left would be very lonely.

That is not unlawful discrimination. Having a tattoo is not a protected class. This employer was within his rights.

You see Louis this is what I was referring to! I have just about had it with people trying to be teachers on a public forum. People may not type well, or care to take time to spell right. "I SEEN". duh ...oh well...if a person can read and understand a post...why BASH each other about proper grammar...sentence structure...this ain't the big leagues!!! Here are some fine examples....I love to say rite! As in YEAH RITE! Some may spell the word because as BECUASE and blame it on two-finger typing errors. I read several books a month, but I will misspell words frequently.
In doing this PEOPLE assume my education is lacking. Some people will type as quickly as they are thinking. Nuff said. Excuse me for bein me! I find perfect people quite boring! In other words to sum it all up people are human and mistakes are made. If there is one thing that I have learned since posting, it is I Will make mistakes! peaceout sammigirl
