They have been closed all week. :( There's a cloth of some kind hanging over the glass door.

I hate it that Wallace's shut down. The employees did not know until closing time last Saturday. I wish all the employees the best. I've heard a few waitresses have gone over to Bar L to work.

BAR-L has better ba-b-q anyway

Their BBQ wasnt great. The service was typically sub-standard and the environment left plenty to be desired. Most of the wait staff was not paid federal minimum wage because many of the young and naieve employees were not aware that the owners were required to make up the difference if their tips and $2.13/hour (or whatever their base pay was) did not balance out to $7.25/hour. Owen's (Lively's) has always had much better BBQ.

I'll miss it too. I liked the atmosphere...and the food. And yes, they did have a drive thru window.

We always received good service Never had any complaints about that.

I loved Wallace's!!!!I loved the food, especially the wings, steaks, onion rings, ranch fries, and more. The owners and waitresses treated us like family, and they had a smoking room,so it was one of my super favs because I felt so at home there!!This old gal is gonna miss them badly, and I don't know what I'll do to satisfy my cravings for their wings!!!!!!!!

went there when i 1st moved to polk county...it was 7:25 p.m. on a Friday...they were advertising a 'prime rib special' of 'all you can eat'...i ordered...waitress came to me 10 minutes later said they were 'out' of-prime rib?...huh?..she offered a steak of sorts...hih?...obviously it was the old 'bait-n-switch'.

I actually doubt it was "bait-n-switch". Many places run out of food that is advertised.

But one may believe as they wish.

There was NO "obviously" anything. Please STOP assuming something you know nothing about. They frequently ran out because it sold so well. There was never any type of "bait and switch" with Shelley and Ronald. That is NOT the kind of people they are! Good, honest, hard working, caring people who simply could not compete with the growing competition, because in order to do so, they would have to keep increasing their prices. That is not something they were willing to do. They will be missed by many many people in this town. Say what you will....WE know what kind of people they are and if they ever open up another restaurant, we will most definitely patronize their establishment!

...@ 7:25 p.m. on a Friday they run out? a night that should mean tremendous volume (and profits) for them? IF they ran out then they needed to plan more efficiently. doesn't spund as if they had a well-thought-plan for such a promotion.

btw, haven't seen that prime rib speacial since. must not have worked becuase they kept 'running out'......lol. lol. lol.

....then it was a poorly planned and executed promotion. on a friday night,@ 7:25 p.m., there were ONLY 4-6 other people there.....cedartown folks must eat between 5-7 and raided the place for prime rib, because they had no more prime rib and the place was virtually empty.

that said, sure hate to see a business go under....restaurant business is the toughest to start, and the toughest to keep going. one has to admire the folks that try it, success or not....it's a tough, tough business, especially in a small, rural market where per captia income is low and there is not a lot of disposable, family income becuase of it. hats off to the folks who kept this restaurant going as long as they did.

I have eaten there three times as I passed through Cedartown. I thought their BBQ was very good and looked forward to stopping by again. I hate to hear it closed.
