Come on with the names - kinda nasty dont ya think??? LOL! Phew!
Anyway - I agree with you because Floyd has already done more here recently than Redmond has done in years.
We are also getting a hige medical center complex in Rockmart. Floyd is breaking ground for it this month and they will build it right on 278 next to El Nepol. It will include doctors, practitioners and many outpatient services that have never been offered her before. I think they are starting off right.

Because Floyd tries to dominate the market, they put clinics and UrgentCares everywhere. That is the only reason. Floyd Countians are tired of paying taxes for all of that crap. And a hospital in another county? Ridiculous

I think it's great for Polk. How many Redmond urgent cares, immediate cares do you see scattered around? None. Floyd has such facilities around everywhere and in several different counties. I think when the new Floyd Polk Medical center is built between Cedartown and Rockmart, alot of folks from Bartow and Paulding may come receive treatment here at Polk.

Floyd Countians won't be responsible for the hospital in Polk. Polk Countians will be.

About the orginal topic regarding ambulances, when a person calls Polk 911 and needs an ambulance, Redmond EMS is automatically dispatched as the default ambulance because Redmond has the contract for EMS service in Polk. However, if you are loyal to Floyd and you want a Floyd ambulance, you can say " I want a Floyd ambulance". Since Polk 911 doesn't dispatch for Floyd ambulances, Polk 911 has to then put you on hold, call Floyd dispatch, repeat all the information that you just gave Polk 911 and tell Floyd you are requesting a Floyd ambulance. At this point Floyd dispatch relays the information to their ambulance to respond. Not knocking either ambulance serrvice because both are highly trained and professional. Just saying there's a few more steps involved when a person wants a Floyd ambulance. Maybe Polk will become another dispatch center for Floyd ambulances since Floyd has ambulances on both sides of Polk county now and Floyd has the hospital in Polk now.

Roscoe and LOL as I previously mentioned the tax payers do not and will not fund either hospitals. It's solely ran by billing and indigent funding from the state and federal grants. If you can PROVE other wise please feel free to show your work on here. As far as the indigent grants, it's money set aside for thousands of hospitals to apply for just as is the grants for Fire, Law Enforcement and EMS. And as far as tax payers goes, Floyd is a not for profit organization that get tax breaks but still pays hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of dollars in Floyd county for taxes and now will do so in Polk county.

Ohok eitheror, that makes sense. I was under the impression our taxes that we pay goes straight to the indigent grants, etc., just like our taxes fund police, fire, etc, like you mentioned. Didnt realize it was grants they had to apply fer. Thanks for clearing that up.

I will never use Floyd again! They nearly killed a family member of mine. I cant post details here but it's a matter of time it will be in the paper as we are filing a legal complaint against them.

The Floyd ambulances are ALREADY in Polk County...on the east side. Redmond covers the west side. Fortunately if you'd rather have Redmond (like I would) you can request them instead of Floyd.
Not true. Redmond is the primary EMS provider in this county and has stations on both sides.

Because they are nice and kind and well trained unlike their counterparts who some are rude on most occassions. That seems to sum up that answer for me.

Will the Paramedic with the DUI charges pending, ever go to court? Or, will the newly elected DA sweep it under the rug!!!!!!!!!!

I think they should establish a new station in Calloway Estates. That's where all the Floyd ambulances hang out all the time anyways instead of where they are supposed to be.

I thought Floyd was going to build a new hospital in Polk county. I see nothing pointing in the direction of a new hospital except, they bought land from one of the hospital board members, interesting isn't it. I have not seen any ground breaking or construction starting, the only thing I have seen is a new Urgent Care in Rockmart. I think there will be no new hospital that it will all be like Rockmart-Aragon Hospital was, and we all know it was shut down.

I guess no one cares about a new hospital and the type of health care we get in Polk County!
