Doug Lee and Henry Cochran both said that the results of this would be staggering to George county on W.L.O.X. It was said that the cost of home owners property tax could DOUBLE! This is unnacceptable to me. Can someone tell me if there has been an audit done on the county and if so, Where can we view the results?

If property taxes double, many will leave this county. We already pay high taxes compared to some of the other counties. We have not always had prison labor, maybe the people they are hiring to watch the prisoners work, can actually get out of their air conditioned trucks and do the work.

Compared to which counties? Where can I find out this info? I'd like to see the differences.

Go to MSN and type in Property tax comparison by county in Miss - you will then be able to see each county. Some are higher, some are lower.
