He lived behind us. He killed my dog. That mattered to me. I could be heartless and say what I mean but I don't think people would recieve it well. I hope he makes someone a beautiful wife in prison

There was a Mark James that came to Vienna School in the mid 1980's that was pretty rough looking. Hung out with a whole group of rough-looking guys. I don't remember him being violent or mean or anything, I just remember him smelling like pot most of the time, and he just had a look about him that made me not want to be around him too much. Wondering if this is the same Mark James. He would probably be around 41 or 42 now..

He was convicted of killing Michael McCurdy, who ahd three daughters "3 sisters dad" bbut the "baby killer" comment???

He also gut shot another druggie a few years prior, had he been delt with properly then, the other guy would still be alive.

Just a thought from the Southside

this was my uncle mike, he was like a father 2 me after my own dad had passed away i dont understand how someone could bring their selves to kill another. i hate mark james with a very strong passion. i dont think its right how he will be outta jail in like 30 years when my uncle is dead i just wish mark would have gotten life so he could feel the same way.. the fact that he probably doesnt even care he killed my uncle pisses me off the most

I have known Mark since before pre-school. He could be the nicest, most polite gentleman when around peoples' parents, etc. He would do anything for a friend, but I think that started to change when he fell into the trap of harder drugs. I mean to say, smoking a joint won't make you kill somebody, but meth will make you delusional. We just lose people like Mark to those drugs. Society is screwed up and somebody like Mark got caught up in that life style. His actions were then re-enforced by his friends(me included) who would say,'Dude, you are a bad a**!' after some of his childish actions.

He was just like any other neighborhood kid. It could be argued that his parents' divorce was the beginning if the end for his personality. Some people get angry, he got even - through/with his Jesse James attitude.

I am not blaming others, but it was our reaction that he thrived on and feed his pathology. Part of him never grew up. Add some harder drugs and his actions could be compared to the temper tantrum of a small child wrought large by a capable adult.

So I have some unconditional compassion for a messed-up life and a damaged soul. I knew Mike - though didn't he have a different last name in school? It is sad, also because it could have been me or one of his brothers.

I understand your anger, but while you say a prayer for Mike, and say a prayer for Mark, too.

Thank you.

WOW, Who are you talking about? No one in life is perfect. Life takes different roads for everyone. Count your blessing if you have had a good life, not everyone is that fortunate. Some people are stonger than others and I will say a prayer for you, sounds like you need it.

Mark did those 3 girls a favor they never knew when they got home from school who or what would be waiting for them at their home!!! These poor girls couldnt feel safe even in their home because of their "father" if you want to call him that, now they have a real dad who loves them and their mommy who also is a saint, if I were her I would have killed him in his sleep!!!!

So it was a win-win, then?

Yeah, nobody is perfect, but most folks don't gut shoot their roommate and then mock then while they beg for their life. Just sayin' before you start prayin'. ;)

So.......you're saying people shouldn't talk badly about cold blooded murderers? Or just those who used to be your friend?

I knew Mike and Mark..and there was more to the story than just Mark shooting Mike..they were both on drugs (out of it)way before and during the incident..we will never know what really happened, can only speculate! Mark has a very big heart and would do anything you asked him to do..he liked to be left alone and do his own thing, and some people couldnt respect that, just like someone mentioned the other shooting..yes he shot another man in self defense, shoot or be shot!!! What would you do?? Mark didnt bother anyone...people always wanted to bother him..Mike..he was a good guy too..from what I knew of him..its a terrible shame things ended the way they did..so many lives destroyed..and I blame it all on the damn drugs!!!!
Just leave well enough alone people!
