Remember......He is INNOCENT until proven guilty!!! Bruce Southard is a good man and he has a great family!! He would give you the shirt off his back! Im sure all of this is a direct result of making the wrong person mad or someone trying to get revenge!!!!!! Leave the man alone and remember all the years of dedicated service he brought to Phelps County as well as serving the Rolla Rural Fire Dept faithfully for a number of years!!!!

My question is who really walks off and leaves their machine with money credit still on it to use the restroom?? Anyone could walk up and start playing it once you leave the seat.

Seen him in action when he worked for sheriff's dept. Didn't like what I saw. He was a bully and abused his authority

I have known Bruce for well over twenty years and he has done nothing but been helpful and kind. He will bend over backwards to help you as long as you don't crap on him. So the way i'm seeing this is it's all about someone trying to stir trouble. Aparently this was posted on facebook by someone wanting it to spread it around. Hummm! Could it be someone at the Rural fire house? or someone who is keeping track of him from the Sheriffs Office ? Interesting isin't it. Unless you know his full name you can't find it on Case net. Who gave the info to the news paper? Must be someone who has something to hide and is afraid to come out and address the situiation themselves or is trying to stab him in the back for their personal gain. I haven't started to do much of my own investigation yet but i am now You snitch. But when i do find out i will dig up some dirt on you. Just watch cause i will find you comments on face book. Or someone in town will talk, maybe not today but it will come out.I learned a long time ago to say little and listen alot.

OK-since we will found out eventually, what alledgedly happened?

Was it using public property for personal use? Illegal online poker[?]; probably not a big deal. Was it selling public property and pocketing the money-that's a bigger deal.

I am sympathetic to anyone willing to risk his/her life to save my kids and house and willing to cut some slack. In my book, decades of good Firefighting work does give you credit for a one-time misdemeanor.

People will always try to stir up problems when elections are near, but the truth is that he was arrested and is being charged with it. U can't make up the truth. U can bring it to light, but not make it up. Casenet doesn't lie and it is unfortunate that this happened.

So how do puyr know it was going to be in the newspaper a day before? Hummmm! Yep you right it's election time but that dosen't matter no one has said he is running. And yes you are right stealing is a crime. But why does everyone want to smear a mans name all over the place just for the hell of it. Hope it's all a honest mistake. Besides who was looking at boone county's arrest reports. Must have been there huh> Remember innocent until proven guilty. So the first one who is free of sin, go ahead and cast the first stone. For you to will be Judged

I think everyone should be held at the same level of accountability weather they have served as a governor or just a part time cook I don't know bout you but I always hold to every one is created equal and should be treated the same weather in praise or justice.

And I also hope it's a mistake. It's sad for all involved.

Thanks-depending upon the facts, this could be petty larceny. Nearly every time I'm at the casino, I leave one or two dumb vouchers in the machine, because I don't want to mess around with $0.78 vouchers. Technically-whoever plays the machine after me would be guilty of larceny, even though I abandoned the voucher.

If someone walked away without playing all their credits, then this might be viewed personally as a case of 'finders-keepers', although a casino takes a dim view of obtaining money that wasn't yours. Ever find a chip, a dollar, or a voucher on the ground at a casino (I have)?-If you pick it up and use it, you are guilty of stealing from casino.

Probably not a big deal-let him pay his fine and move on. It's not like he was arrested for running an organized crime money laundering racket in town....

it was NOT someone on Rolla Rural. Take a look at hometown rolla's Facebook page. You'll find it there.

What I read says that he was seen watching the man and when he left his machine to use the restroom, he immediately went to his machine and used $51 or something that was on it. Regardless..ethically wrong.
