Our men and women in uniform put themselves in harm's way every day.$20 per a hour is an insult.

The city can do much better then that.

They are too busy subsidizing the Centre. Don't worry about their pay, because I'm going to look good in my bathing suit this year.

killa always fails to include that he was banned from the Centre due to his poor hygiene. His shorts in that pool were like a giant tea bag.

All first responders are under paid. What do you think starting pay for a Paramedic is here? Try $12.50 hour!!!!!

Folks, the important thing to recognize here is that I need my workouts subsidized so I can pay the same amount at the Centre as everywhere else. There is no money left in the budget to pay out extra after this important budgetary item.
I wonder...

Well Gary maybe you'll have a different tune when they're scraping you of the road next time you're in an accident. First responders should get paid way more.

Both the RPD, RFD, Rural Fire, and first responders deserve more than they are making now. They put their lives at risk, 24/7, regardless of the age, neighborhood, religion, financial resources, or record of the people needing help. I willingly pay taxes for these services whether I use them or not, but I am glad they are there for me and my neighbors who might need them.

The Centre, on the other hand, is a luxury that not everyone can afford and I would resent paying for it twice, through both taxes and membership, if I used the facility. It's bad enough that we even built it years ago....it was an expensive "want"; we "need" police and fire and emergency responders. Sell it or give it to and organization like the YMCA to run and maintain more efficiently for those who chose to use it.

Let's start a petition to put a law enforcement tax on the ballot. Or start a new VIP with more authority to help our police, practice open carry We could get the martial arts guy that trained the cops and volunteers in Arizona to come to Rolla and help us. I can't remember his name, not Chuck Norris. Anybody know anyone in Rolla that's not a real cop but wants to be and would be good to get something like this going?

Government is the problem. Not the solution. They already take in too much. Start with where they waste the money instead of feeding the beast and rewarding failure.
