I must applaud this guy. Normally I don't agree with him but he deserves credit for introducing this bill into the State Senate that would mandate teaching gun safety to first graders. If it can save even one life from an accidental shooting then it's well worth it.

But does nothing to address the real issue at hand which is deranged individuals conducting mass killings with guns. Not to mention let's put yet another mandate on our already struggling schools. Nevermind it gives the NRA an open door to our schools and does absolutely nothing for irresponsible gun owners which is how kids find guns in the first place. Adult education is what's needed.

Oh. So we can only deal with one issue at a time. You clearly must have voted for the Liar In Chief.

Too bad while your dealing with your issue, children could be saved from injury and death. But then again your type love letting children die by the thousands.....oh wait they aren't children until they are born. I forgot!!!

I can't even believe you are that narrow minded and stupid

Wow

Let the NRA in our schools? We can only hope any pray they WILL be allowed in. It's the only way REAL measures will be taken to protect our children. Your "gun free zones" have worked so well!!!!

I never said anything on who I voted for, and my stance on abortion and won't because that is not the subject at hand. I merely stated the obvious flaws with this measure and apparently stepped on some toes of ridiculousness.

FYI, my children have already been taught the same proposed class through an organization we are a member of....of which I have no problems. Let's address the real problems with this proposal and leave mine (and your) opinion of the president and abortion out of it.

I hope this safety training includes birth control. If we teach gun safety we need to teach them how to not get pregnant.

The problem ultimately is liberalism. Ignorance is a breeding ground for stupidity like mass murder. You liberals must do us all a public service and learn.

Again, we can only address one issue at a time?

So because you teach your children at home (good for you) we shouldn't teach them at school. I suppose you have taught your children fire safety? When to call 911 and how? How to avoid strangers? So we can take those programs out of public school as well??? Oh....no.....wait!!!!! What about the parents who aren't as responsible as you are? I guess you don't care about those children and if they are taught safety rules concerning all areas of need? Gotcha!!!

The only FLAW You pointed out is you don't like the NRA. The very NRA that is protecting your 2nd amendment rights.....hmmmmm you are a hypocrite as well

It's nice to see we can have an intelligent conversation without name calling. Seems genuine to NRA supporters. I don't need a radical group to defend my 2nd amendment rights as they haven't been violated. And while we have the NRA coming in, I'd like my religious freedom group to come in and teach about creationism. And as someone pointed out... What about the parents who don't teach their children....you just solidify my statement that what we truly need
Is adult education,

I don't disagree, but I think the education is a good step.
