I want to move out but I've recently heard I can't without parents consent. Is that true?

In one of three ways
1 parents expressed consent
2 implied consent. Ie you have been living alone, supporting self.
3 significant change in societal status. Ie military or marriage.
All require a ruling of judge.

If your a female then yes but males no in Missouri they believe that females are more mature at the age of 17 then males not to sure how true that is but I remember when I was 18 and my gf was 17 she was able to move out and move in with me with out the parents being able to do anything but the laws change so much that you might just wanna ask the police or a judge just to be sure...

Yes you can move out. However, most times you need to be 18 to sign anything!
Half the reason to become emancipated is to have the ability to bind yourself to contracts. If you couldn't do that, you wouldn't even be able to sign a lease on an apartment,

You legally can not move out without doing the things listed by "Killa_the_compasinate ". However the cops will tell you that you can because they DO NOT have the man power or the will to make you go back home. But legally they are suppose to (they are suppose to enforce the law, right?). I hope you really make sure this is something you want to do. I would advise you to do it the legal way, if you REALLY want to move out and be a an adult. Also, you can not sign a lease for a place to live or well actually you can't sign anything (because 17 year olds are NOT adults). If you get in trouble, that can still fall back on the parents. You can look up the Missouri Statues and find this information. Just think twice before trying to grow up to quick.

In the state of Missouri if you are 17years old no matter ir you are male or female you can leave home if you can financialy support yourself. This has been so since all the way back from the mid to late 70's.

Also, even though one must be 18 to be considered as an adult, there is fauls in the law. If you are 17 and you break the law in some cases you can be charged as an adult and are liable for your actions rather you live with your parents or not.

In all cases at age 17 you are charged as an adult in a criminal matter. Look it up and you can come n go at ahe 17 without parent consent.

Why rush and move out? why not just enjoy being young and still a child. Unless your being abused at home i would say enjoy being home and enjoy having parents that love you and care about you.

Actually you can NOT move out with out going in front of a judge to prove you can live on your own. For those who say you can, can you provide the actual laws that state this? I have yet to find them in the last 3 years. They all say that you can't unless you do several things as stated above by Killa. BUT you can because no one will stop you or try to help your parents to stop you. So do what you got to do, but be dam* sure your ready for the real world. It's not all green on the other side.

No, you cannot move out until you're 40, and have financially sucked your parents dry.

Yes, you can move out when you are 17 but your parents are legally responsible for you until you are 18. Then you are fully on your own. Main thing is to make sure you can support yourself.

Actually dumbass, YES YOU CAN. I moved out at 17 and my dad tried his hardest to get me back in. Went to the law and everything. They can not MAKE you go home. Just advise you to. But it isn't a good idea: it's very hard not living at home. Especially at 17. You can't sign for an apartment. Or anything. Unless your emancipated. But your parents have to sign to get you emancipated.. But just wait till your 18 if
You wanna leave that bad.. Things will be a tad easier.

Actually dipshi* Legally NO YOU CAN'T! BUT like I said no one will try and help the parents enforce the dam* law! That area doesn't have the man power apparently... I say let them go, let them learn for themselves. I don't care what you did, of course your dad didn't get any help. NO one wants to enforce the statues.
