I know four men that have received these letters, one of whom is a twenty year Navy veteran that served with distinction for his entire career and left the service with an honorable discharge. Another is a Vietnam vet who served in Marine Force Recon for ten years and also received an honorable discharge. The letters they received specifically stated they "may have been declared incompetent". No psych evaluations, no therapists, no reports, just a letter that tells them they're now incompetent to own a gun and that they have to give them up or be arrested. There is nothing wrong with these men at all and the only thing they have in common is that they all served in or in conjunction with a Spec Ops unit during their time in the service (Marine Forced Recon, Navy SEALs, Army Rangers).
Simple then, just report it to Fox news with names and locations, and break out this >urban legend<!

I am a veteran and YES that is true if the government knows that you have PTSD or any other depression the docter will call the authories in your area and they can take away any weapons that you have. It has taken me 2 years now with the VA to get all of my disabilities. When I got back from Iraq after getting hurt I was medicallialy discharged and forgotten about. Me and a few others are in the same position. The only way to stop the government is to stick together and fight for our rights. If not then the government will take all of our rights away because they want to blame the guns, pitbulls, etc instead of blaming the people that do the crimes. Lets get more teaparties and lets fight for the constitution.
Thank YOU

So let me get this straight. As I understand it, the government enlists soldiers into the military, trains them to fire, handle, and operate a firearm, gives them a love of this country and a duty to fight for and protect the rights we all enjoy, then sends them overseas to fight and kill terrorists that threaten our country.
Then, when they come back from active duty, their freedoms are stripped, their rights regulated, their gov't training labeled as indoctrination, and they are listed as domestic terrorists after spending years fighting terrorists in other countries. Now the gov't is sending letters out to our vets telling them, "Thanks for your service, but we now think that you are incompetent to handle or own a gun. You now have *this* long to turn in your weapons and ammo or we will confiscate them and throw you in jail."
Am I the only one on here that is absolutely disgusted by this?

It must be hard to defend a president that hangs with a terrorist that bombed the Pentagon.

Not really any more difficult than supporting presidents that lie about weapons of mass destruction or money from selling weapons to South American rebels to support Iranian rebels with the profits. Bush supported the Saudis the 911 terrorists were Saudis, so did Bush pal around with terrorists? Your logic is flawed just like your character.

Oh, you must mean the ones that were declared "100% disabled" by the VA after declaring that they have PTSD, right? Well, maybe you need to brush up on your military jargon. The phrase "100% disabled" does mean what it sounds like. My friend Bruce, a former Marine, is technically 98% disable, but physically there is nothing wrong with him. It's the so-called PTSD they diagnosed him with that makes him be read up as such. Also, the VA is famous for dangling a full pension plan in front of vets and saying they will get better benefits and more pension payments if they admit to having delilitating PTSD, which more often than not they don't have. But like I keep saying, you can believe what you want.
PS - I don't appreciate being called a liar, by you or anyone else. I've misrepresented nothing and I have not thrown insults out to anyone, so show some mutual respect and let's not sink to that level.
You do not get 98% for having PTSD. You get 10%. And then it's done in "VA Math". Too wordy to explain, but you can google it and figure it out.

Google 'Halabja poison gas attack' so you don't look stupid. The weapons not only existed, they were used!

The last quote, you are correct. But now, it doesn't matter. I only double-check spelling and grammar of my own brilliant writings while correcting others that are correcting others.

Saying it does not make it fact, let's see some published statements from local police chiefs or other unelected cops that aren't worried about upsetting gun nut voters. Maybe people smiled at you to keep you happy (not trigger happy) or maybe they were laughing at you like I am. You and Killa do make the day more interesting. Kind of like a car wreck, hate to look but can't help it.
Insulting me doesn't do anything but show how closed-minded you are. You talk down to me for carrying a gun, but let me ask you this; what do you do when someone tries to rob you? Or comes into your house to rob you or kill you? You call someone with a gun and hope that he gets there in time. The fact that he wears a badge doesn't mean anything. Yes, people may think I'm crazy or that I'm "trigger happy", but that's just because they don't know what they're talking about. A gun is not evil or able to just jump out of the holster and start shooting people. Good peole with LEGAL guns are the one and only to stop bad people with ILLEGAL guns. You can think what you want. That's your right, just like owning and carrying my gun is mine.

Why don't you show up at WalMart with your gun and I'll sign a complaint saying you need to be evaluated at the Fulton Funny Farm.

We'll see how long you get to pack your gun around after that.

Go ahead. That's your right. You would have to prove that I am what you say I am and I know that I'm not. Hell, I'll shake your hand while you sign it. I'm just a guy exercising my right, just like you're exercising your right to speak your mind on here. By the way, how did we get so off topic here? This was supposed to be about how vets are being targeted adn singled out, not about gun rights. If you want to bash me on here then go to my Self Defense - Yay or Nay? thread.

If someone tries to invade my home I shoot them with one of a large assortment of handguns, shotguns, rifles, I own, or if they are not armed a retractable baton or aluminum bat. have no need to carry any of them around town. No one is insulting you for your right to own or bear arms, just your irrational need to carry one everywhere.
