Mercy has fell from the sky several times but if that don't happen you are in very good hands with them.

My husband was taken to Barnes by Air Evac. He was in wonderful hands and they held true to their word. Since we are members they did not charge one penny more. They even called later to see how they were doing. My Mom was taken to Barnes by St Johns. She was a Medicare patient and had a gap policy. Of course we all know how they bill. Finally my Mom said just to pay them off. After she passed I sat down with all her paper work and found they had balanced billed. That is the reason I would never choose to use them. They took good care of my Mom while in flight. Either one are probably good as caregivers. I just choose Air Evac.

I did do a little fact digging and found out Mercy has a worse record for flights but unsure of the hours between the 2 so it could go either way.Thats why I was asking about your facts,not that I didn't belive you.Its all about the hours in the air.

Mercy Life Line (Formally St. John's Life Line) has been accident free since its inception in 1984. Those are the facts. They fly all twin engine aircraft with auto pilot, radar, terrain and traffic avoidnace equipment and are Instrument Flight Rules certified.

Dear YoungOne;
Mercy Life Line, formerly "Hammon's Life Line" and then "St. John's Life Line", based out of Springfield, Missouri, has never crashed or "fallen from the sky" as you put it. I think you have your facts mixed up. Try searching Air Evac Life Team crashes and you will be utterly SHOCKED. Please don't be confused by the hundreds of helicopter EMS operations nationwide with similar names. There are many "Mercy's" and many more "Life Line" helicopters across the nation.

It really doesn't matter if ur looking at joining, I can tell u from experience that if you need a air transport, the primary consideration from ems is who can b there the quickest. If ur being transported from an ER they will take that into consideration though. All u bashing either services, if u think u can do better, by all means go for it. It takes tremendous skill to b a flight nurse or medic!
I was flown from Rolla to St. John's in St. Louis. The flight crew were fantastic! As soon as I got there, a surgical team awaited me for emergency life saving surgery. I was scared beyond belief. Having never flown before and knowing what awaited me, I was so scared! My flight nurse was WONDERFUL! THANX again! U will always have my support!

What does a crash in Iowa of a helicopter operated by Medtrans Corp have to do with Mercy Life Line?
