Vessell's is $30 per month!! Or you can do a weekly pass for $10 and you can do that for as many times as you want. There are tanning beds that are $3 per time. Workers are really nice!! Babysitting is $1 per time nd $5 for a month! But you don't have to pay that if your child is over 8. 12 Year olds can work out!

I was going to the Centre for awhile but the people weren't so friendly. I am overweight and was trying to loose weight but they looked at me like I was trash. So I quit going. You'd think people would be nicer and more willing to help those trying to get into shape.
I'm very overweight and I've been at the Centre for over a year now. I've only had 1 person make me feel uncomfortable. I've only seen that person there once. All in all, I feel everyone else in the place is friendly regardless of age or size. Outside of the one time, I've never had any hesitations to get down to business working out. Maybe I just don't give enough of a hoot to care what others think.

Yeah, but the Centre is not open 24/7 like Anytime Fitness is. Which means that if you feel like you want to work out at 3 am, then you can at Anytime Fitness. You can't do that at the Centre.

Family Fitness on 8th Street is the place to go.$30/month or you can do 3 or 6 month options. They have tanning and a SAUNA, as well as basketball and racquetball. The staff there is great and the members are always quick to help out. Free yoga, pilates and step aerobics classes too. No activation fee and no long waits for machines. They also have a boxing room upstairs and a sweet massage chair.

I'd definitely go up there or call and ask for Dustin, he's my personal favorite and I've lost about 60 lbs since working with him. They are all helpful though. Try it out, you won't be disappointed.

I am trying to decide on which Gym in Rolla to use.

Vessels, Family Fitness, Anytime Fitness

I dont care about pricing I already have that, but I want to hear peoples experiences and opinions.

Vessels offers child car, HUGE plus!!! I really really wish Family Fitness offered a child care provider I would be sold on going there.

Anytime doesnt offer classes, not sure I would use them but they would be there if I wanted too at the other places.

Vessels also offers a boot camp class and zumba included in membership.

Vessels also does not have a personal trainer.

Family Fitness does.

So what are everyones personal opinions amd experiences.

Please do not recommend the center, I will not go there and have my fat displayed for everyone to see in the middle of the building. Just way to crowded and open for me.

whatever well I'm not trying to start anything just was interested in the. Prices they have cuz I need a place to work out and have heard good things about this place!
It was ridiculous, my husband was paying $194 a month for some class. Our entire family could have joined the Centre for what 3 months allowed only for him, plus, we would have full acces to the cenre's pool.

I love Family Fitness! Best gym in town. Great staff. Classes are free and Judy does a great job. Also have racquetball and they offer free tanning with membership. Ryan does a great job personal training and helping achieve your goal.

You'll need to lock into a long-term membership agreement at AnytimeFitness. Besides an initiation fee of $50, you'll have monthly dues of $40/month for 12 months (minimum).
If you are new to exercise, or just getting back into fitness, then you should consider using the Rolla Centre. You can get a 20 entry pass for like $100 (with no contract or initiation fees). Research shows that for 85% of those who join a gym (or something really high), they go for the first two weeks then they slow or stop exercising. The Rolla Centre is the cheapest option.
The "Centre" is hot. Too hot for a comfortable cardio workout, unless u swim. They keep temp at 70 degrees. Why?

I called to compare a couple of weeks ago. This is the info I got: For Anytime Fitness you have to enroll for one year at $36 a month. You pay a one time fee of $30 for your key. Tanning was an additional $12 a month.

The Centre has really crappy hours. Summer hours are M-F 5am-9pm, Sat 8am-5pm and Sun 11am-5pm.(And the pool is not always open during those hours). They were $32 a month with a one year minimum contract. An adult value pass was 20 visits for $128.

Both of these I have a University affiliation discount but it's only like 10%.

I chose the Centre because of the pool and my location, but the hours stink.

I AGREE! Besides the fact that they're broke, I think that's how the old people like it.

Same here. The only person that ever made me uncomfortable was a kid. I'm very large (not in the muscle kind of way either) and there are many others that are there just trying to better themselves. But I tend not to give a flying hoopla about what others think.

Hands down worst gym experience Ive ever had. The staff is completely rude and unprofessional, especially the manager Chrissy. My girlfriend and I both had memberships there, and it wasnt long before we realized that it was a huge mistake signing up. I am friends with several nu that used to workout there. I found out from a couple friends that the staff had been openly badmouthing my girlfriend and I in front of other members. If that wasnt ridiculous enough, one night we were using hand chalk to deadlift with (which I had previously made sure it was ok to use). I accidentally knocked over my tub of chalk, and I had nothing to sweep it up with so I cleaned it the best I could and we left. The next day my gf lets me listen to a voicemail the manager Chrissy had left on HER phone instead of calling me. In the message she was furious about the chalk, saying that I had purposely thrown it everywhere. She also claimed that suddenly there had been dozens of complaints from other members about us dropping weights and taking up machines, things that were obviously not true because we had never once slammed or dropped weights while lifting. Also Ive never seen more than 6 people in there at once, and none of them ever asked how many sets we had left on a machine. In the last part of her rant, she told us that maybe we should go workout somewhere else. Upon calling her back, I proceeded to get in a 15 minute argument with her yelling at me over the phone, which eventually ended with her saying that she had other things to do and that my gf and I should cancel our memberships. So we did not hesitate to leave. Its no wonder that this gym is almost always empty. I since have talked to several former members with similar stories. In 8+ years of lifting in countless gyms, I have never had an encounter with gym staff as irritating and unprofessional as at the Anytime Fitness in Rolla, MO. The manager is insane. I would not recommend this gym to anyone who is serious about fitness.

I worked out at family fitness for about two years before buying my own free weights and squat rack and the only complaint I had was that there aren't many benches and only one rack but quite a few cardio machines. If your just mainly using machines and not free weights they are fine but if you do vessels is a better choice and larger. The center is a joke and not for the few lifting serious weights.
