No gun free zones

Well unfortunately Sandy, as Someone who works in health care, part of the problem with treating EDP (emotionally disturbed persons) is that even with the perfect mental health system (which we are FAR from having) is that often times the patient is their own worst enemy. Denial, fear, social stigma and etc keep them from seeking or cooperating with treatment.

Also, the very freedoms we all enjoy, freedom of unlawful search and seizure, freedom to travel w/o being searches at every county or state line and etc will always be used to further those with evil intent. The freedom that protects you and I are the same freedom that all criminals use to ply their trade.

I agree we Desperately need better mental health. I also actually agree 100% that ALL firearm transactions require a background check.

I also believe that our children deserve the same protector we afford our politicians, celebrities and the way we gaurd our money and our valuables.

Gun free zones are "come kill here" invitations. All these nut jobs want is their moment in glory and to have the highest body count. They will get some type of firearm. That is a given. We need to be proactive and try new measures to protect our children. After 9-11 we increased security screening, hardened cock pit doors. Put more Air Marshals on duty to name a few proactive things. Don't our very children deserve as much?

I agree with that completely but the answer is not to maintain the status quo. We as a country(not one party or the other) should address this issue NOW! Not wait until something even worse than Sandy Hook to happen. God forbid it happens again but it could be a lot closer to home next time.

You are EXACTLY correct! Gun free zones need to be repealed.

How many of all you insiteful people work at a school? If you honestly believe taking weapons out of the hands of law abiding citizens is the answer,YOU need to go to work everyday and wonder if you will make it home.Guns dont just go on a shooting spree,so i dont understand where this logic comes in.And NO it is not our job to dodge gunfire.Put yourself in the shoes of staff before forming an opinion please.

I Disagree that was a perfect analogy. What was regulated after the Oklahoma City bombing?
Ammonium Nitrate.AKA manure.
Hell if manure is so dangerous to the public it has to be controlled by the government then why are we arguing about clip sizes?

We all know that if you have to reload after 6 shots, it's so difficult that school shootings will cease.

Ammonium nitrate is not manure, but a fertilizer in a crystalline form. It is used as an oxidizing agent in explosives and is not very hard to get your hands on legally. You have no idea what you are talking about on the subject.

Oh good grief.

You confuse then and than and you bring your right-wing extremist truck bomb into the mix. Plus you don't know bullshit from Ammonium Nitrate.

What is controlled about ammonium nitrate. I can buy it at the feed store. Anyone wanting a truckload can get it....as long as they don't ask for manure, you rube.

I know what it is I was referring to it as manure because the previous poster called it that.
Now to educate you.
