With all the things that are wrong with this world, why do the majority of people choose to complain about others weight? I am a fat girl,I'm not uneducated and I'm not lazy...I am a person with feelings and have just as much right to be fat as anyone else has to be thin.
I am not ashamed of who I am or the way that I look,I don't have diabase or high blood pressure,I don't keep cookies in my purse or think about food constantly and so on and so on with the fat stereotypes.....so what the problem be?I am not hurting myself or you,so why the hate?
The only logical conclusion I can come to is that the miserable and hateful people in this world need something to complain about and we are the BIGEST targets....so very sad.

I will be honest all the people I know who are complaining about the heath bill are out of shape people who watch Fox News!!!

These are the people who have very bad habits and expect every one to support them.

Excess fat indicates overconsumption of food to the point far beyond the amount needed to sustain life. It is a badge of gluttony that one carries around that is visible to everyone that sees it. It's fine to be proud of oneself, but I personally would have a very hard time overeating to that extent while knowing there is so much starvation in the world at large. Many people are not able to get enough to eat in Missouri.

Instead of driving to Walmart and loading up a shopping cart with soda, chips, ice cream, cookies, frozen pizza, candy, beer, cheesecake, and other yummy goodies, buy fresh fruit and vegetable, a whole chicken, and potoes, leaving the butter behind. Learn to bake and steam, instead of frying. Then spend some quality time helping out in a food pantry in town to see what I'm talking about. If you disclaim any participation in the above food list, then you are in a state of denial. It had to go in your mouth on a regular basis to get on your thighs to that extent.

You seem like a nice, intelligent person. You should try and loose some weight before the health problems eventually catch up with you, plus you'll feel great. Maybe just make some small changes in your eating and see where it takes you. No hate for overweight people, just want to see everyone reach their full potential.

If they expected other people to support them, wouldn't they be voting for Barry-boy and his crew?

The reason people give advice to fat people is because, no matter how pathetic their own lives are, they can feel superior by condemning and ridiculing fat people......they'll justify their behavior by claiming their just trying to help, but the reality is the whole thing is just to make themselves feel better.

Now, that having been said, a fat person who complains about it should also consider their own situation.

Gees, you all who can solve the world's problems are making false assumptions.( you know what they say about assuming). I was born over weight and have struggled my entire life with it. My grocery cart is filled with tons of fresh fruits and veggies, chicken and ground turkey. Rarely does "junk" enter my cart. Still, I am over weight. My husband and youngest child have perfect BMI yet me and my oldest child still have weight
issues. There has to be more to it than just food consumption choices and activity levels. BTW a huge portion of the people who tormented me in school for my weight are now busting out of their own seams. Some are even fatter than me. Your time may be coming.

But you are hurting yourself, with a lifestyle of obesity {a person is considered obese when his or her weight is 20% or more above normal weight} the effects will most likely shorten your life or to some degree cause unhealthy later years.{diabetes, strokes, vital organs failures - heart disease, liver, kidney failures,etc}
It's great you have a positive personal attitude, but its my opinion you need to do some research on the long lasting conclusive information about a healthy lifestyle. No one can predict when an individual will be affected with problems.
Something to ponder, how many 70 or 80 year old obese people do you know, and if you do, are they as active as "slimmer" ones ?

Well I guess you don't know too many people. There are skinny, healthy people who watch Fox News and there are obese gluttons who watch MSNBC.

IMHO, Fox is too conservative just as MSNBC is too liberal. I'll stick with CNN.

Fat people do not have an affiliation to any one news source or political party. If anyone is trying to make that connection they should really open their eyes and see what is out there.

It is definitely a health issue which needs to be monitored. Because no two people lose weight the same way.

Someone explain to me why both my grandparents were obese for their entire lives and yet lived wonderful lives until they passed in their mid and late 80's. My grandpa was a hard worker too and highly respected when he retired. Not all fatties are heart attacks waiting to happen. I dare say they were in better health than some of you stone throwers. Codemning fat individuals make for alot of anorexics who I gaurantee are in worse health when their bodies start feeding on their internal organs for fuel. Let's blame them for the rising costs of health insurance premiums. The anorexics spend way more time in the hospital and don't have enough energy to even make it from their car to work.

Your grandparents were obese in a time when their foods were basically healthier, unprocessed and unadulterated with chemicals and manufactured frankenfoods. The hormones in factory farmed animal products are called growth hormones for a reason. No matter what excuses you make, obesity is dangerous today. It is caused by eating more than your body can handle. If it means you should only eat a half cup of spinach and tofu a day until things change, then that is the choice you should make. Get a fasting blood glucose test and a fasting blood lipid test. Then have your blood pressure checked. Those tests will help you face the facts.

Good luck

Just as some use alcohol or tobacco and live long lives, it involves many internal factors, but let me assure you for your two family members there are literaly hundred of thousands who die every year at a younger age due to organ failure from being obese. And yes, anorexia is a very dangerous condition, although much of this addiction stems from mental issues.

You don't have a fasting blood glucose test and a fasting blood lipid test at a doctor's office. You have them at a hospital lab. What is your "perfect" blood pressure, generally? Your mileage should vary.

I have had those numbers checked and do so on a yearly basis. At 36, my numbers (except weight) are all within normal range and my doctor has no concerns. Contrayr to you own belief, you obviously don't know everthing about a healthy lifestyle by encouraging anorexia by advising a spinach and tofu diet. I have a cousin in that situation and I gaurantee she is in worse health than 90% or the obese people I know. I love how topix makes some people such "experts".
