Interesting that people who aren't wealthy tend to vote for the political party that opposes helping the less well-to-do citizens. Explain.

I totally agree. When they have full control the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Say and think what you want. This deep recession is a result of republican action. The policies of George W brought it down. Once it started down it brought it a down like a ripple effect. It doesn't get built back up overnight. I think we have been mighty lucky that we were able to avoid a real depression. The next collapse will probably get us there. Wish more people would have paid attention to history. Maybe it wouldn't have to repeat itself.

Could it be because a lot of people who poorer vote based on what they hear from word of mouth without actually fact checking?

It's good that you ask that question. When your nonsensical idea seems stupid, it's probably because your idea is wrong. I wasn't always this brilliant and was raised with some dumb ideas myself. Once I began to realize I had some liberal ideas that had easy, sensible answers, I worked to correct them all.

So allow me to enlighten you. Classes of people, ie lower, middle, and upper class is a concept pushed by government. It implies that once you are in a class, you are stuck there. In fact, most people traverse these classes at least once in their life, and some, many times. If you have a mindset that you are stuck in a class, liberal ideas can be sexy. If you have a mindset that you can and want to be mobile in classes, conservative ideas can be sexy.

The liberal ideology suggests rich people are always rich, so lets steal from them and give to the poor. But that strategy keeps people poor because it removes the incentive to work.

The conservative ideology suggests lets all get rich and let people keep their earnings. Lets incentivize work and dis incentivize laziness. It is hard work that creates wealth. People aren't shackled by their class.

So the poor that vote Republican want the opportunity to get wealthier. They don't want to live off a few hundred dollar pittance the government pays them to not work.

The welfare crowd is firmly Dimocrat. The working middle class often votes Republican because they are the kind of folks who believe in working and doing the right thing. What you're really asking is why aren't more people wannabe parasites like yourself......and its because they have..... a moral code, radical idiot....and most of them are smart enough not to but the Dimicratic party lies.

here in Rolla, we call them trailer park republicans

they watch FOX TV and believe all that crap
FOX just spews gratuitous outrage.
It is cheaper to produce than shoot'em up movies or car chases.
Talking heads getting people worked up and filling their simple minds with outrage. Playing to base instincts like fear and greed and hate.

"(in Marxist theory) A transitional social state between the overthrow of capitalism and the realization of communism."

That's socialism. Sound familiar? Sound like a certain president we know?

My husband and I are both students. We both work full time as well. Do we have a lot of money at this point in our lives? No. Does that change the fact that we are both conservative Republicans? No. Killa hit the nail on the head with this one. We strive to get a good education, have good careers and build a life all our own for our family. People seem to have forgotten that's the American dream. Idk about you but I like WORKING for what I have. I don't need handouts. It instills a sense of pride in me, knowing that I did it myself. Everyone should be entitled to what they WORK for. Now do I believe in helping those that truly need help? Of course. That's not everyone who is asking for handouts though. Americans have and continue to get lazy. Why am I not liberal? Why am I not a democrat? Because I refuse to be an enabler. My accomplishments in life will be directly related to what I strived for. I really like the saying "Republican: because we can't all be on welfare."

I am as Conservative as anyone but this Mitt Romney has been caught in so many lies he can't be counted on to be a man of his word. He will do what is best for Mitt Romney and the Mormon Church and screw everybody else.

The kind of things Mitt Romney did at Bain Capital should be against the law but Reagan's man Scalia took care of the laws so it is legal to take over a corporation and steal all the assets and destroy careers and retirements for thousands of workers at at time.

Gee Dubya and Cheney took America to the brink of economic failure and if Mitt Romney is elected you can bet he will finish the job.

The poor Mitt supporters are part of Mitt's 47 percent, they are just too dumb to know it.

Lol.'Conservative as anyone'. I'd be embarrassed of being a lib too, but you take it to a whole new level trying to call yourself by the name of the other side.

Something's going on because Obama can't even muster 44% much less 47%.

There is actually a different reason they are supporting Mitt. But you are just too dumb to know why. I'll give you a hint. It involves work.

I don't complain, that's a democrat's job bud. As I pointed out before. We work our asses off for what we have. We also don't think we are better than anyone. But I'm damn sure I'm a harder worker than the people sitting around asking for handouts, and you're sadly mistaken if you think the majority of Republicans do very little real work. Again I think you're confused. Republicans believe in making your own success. Hard work and reward for that hard work. With that we don't want a socialist govt coming in and saying well you shouldn't have that much success, spread it around. That isn't fair, nor is it the American dream. Maybe if you got off of your couch and got an education to better yourself, you would both realize that Republicans are the smarter party and realize that the word is spelled COMPLAIN.
not so

I know plenty of lazy people and they vote republican because they dislike the Democratic stances on abortion etc. AND because some people don't realize that you can change parties - you don't have to be republican because your grandma's grandma was.

There it is. The traditional Republican belief that the only people who are poor are those that are lazy. How about the single mother with two kids who has a full-time job as a mom and works evenings and weekends at the grocery store to make ends meet? sorry. You are just lazy. No handouts. Work harder.
