It's sad that it had to come to this, but I had to change my name so that whatever libtard coward is out there stealing it can no longer post obscenities and rediculous comments under my name. I truly weep for a generation that thinks its better to run someone down in such a cowardly way rather that actually state your own thoughts under your own power. But I guess people are just lapping up the BS our so-called president is spoonfeeding them.

Trying to get back on topic, here's a question for all the serious carriers on here. What do you prefer as your carry piece? I'm partial to my 1911 .45 personally, but sometimes I break out one of my wheelguns. I'm a huge revolver fan. How about you?

Tell us about the guns you open-carry into WalMart.

Love the 1911 platform. It is what I carry.
We could get into the which gun/caliber is best but nobody would win. LOL
So I am in favor of the "one you happen to have mentality", after all it doesn't do you any good if it's home locked up in the safe.

I've gotten into the "what's the best gun?" or "what's the best way to carry one?" conversation before. Really, it all just come down to what you're comfortable with and what's best for you personally. Everyone is different. I like a .45, maybe you like a 9mm. I like revolvers and 1911s, maybe someone else likes Glocks. It's all about what works best for you.

Never hurts to have some extra firepower handy. Like old Teddy Roosevelt once said, "Walk softly and carry a big stick."

A handgun is for fighting your way back to where you left your rifle.

Which one have you been in the most shoot outs with? I liked my Ruger 357 magnum better than the Colt issue because the auto was prone fail in the high humidity of the jungle. Never saw a need for open or concealed carry after July 13, 1970.

Way I see it . 99.9 % of gun violence are by criminals with illegal or stolen guns , or they shouldnt have even been able to buy one . A person with a CCL may have been able to prevent the death of kids and adults. People that have bought guns for the home , now has a way to protect themselves , where otherwise they was victims . If you dont like to carry a gun or use one or even own one after haveing some training , Thats fine. Theirs many victimes who wished now that they had a gun . Myself , Id perfer a concealed , as an open carry , you become a target first . Ive seen alot of people killed because they didnt have guns for protection . I have no problem if you dont want a gun , as long as you can handle a criminal with a gun and the way our economic is going , theirs more robberies and home invasions , as well as attacks against innocent people. I carry for 2 reasons , 1 to defend myself 2 to be able to come to the aid of others if needed

Never been in one, and hope I never am. I train for the event that it might happen and carry my gun for the event that i may happen. A lot of people ask me why I carry, why do I think I need it, things like that, and all I have to say to them is this; why do you keep a spare tire in your car? Don't you take care of your car? Why do you think you need one? You keep it there just in case you need it, even though you hope you never will.
"Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it."

I couldn't agree with you more. I love how people who are against guns cry about gun stats and how many people are killed by them every year, yet like to omit or forget that more than 90% of those deaths are done by criminals with illegal weapons or in criminal on criminal crime. Law-abiding citizens are more than willing to defend ourselves and have done so many times in recent months, even if the media refuses to cover or publicize it. I carry for the same two reasons you stated.
