they wouldn't bring me a dumpster until I paid up the bill from a previous owner at my address

otherwise no complaints about WCA

but having to pay off the other guys old bill really frosted my ass

As far as the roads when they leave on their routes which in many cases is 4 AM it was slick. The subdivision issue if the truck would get a rut on some property along the road then the owners are complaint then the company is out of that expense. Take that times several hundred it gets expensive. Also in subdivisions the truck hits one car then you have another problem. You also have to remember a lot of the calls come out of Springfield. The school bus routes starts after the routes start. There were also some schools that called off classes. Now I do agree that someone should not have to pay for the previous owner unless somehow you are connected to them.

I wouldn't want their barely above minimum wage job. Everyone makes mistakes but be glad someone is willing to get rid of your trash.

Sounds like someone works for them?Since you do tell them it's not right for us to have to pay for a previous persons bill. I read on here that I'm not the only one. It's a bunch of b/s. I'd rather get my trash picked up from the sopranos. There less of crooks.

No don't work there and never did let's just say I am close to the situation. Not even the haz mat guy gets anywhere near $18.75 per hour. None of them gets paid that especially at starting. It's hard work and they put on long hours and a nasty job. Most of them work there because it is a job and they can get insurance. They try to please the company and the customer both which alone can be stressful. Let alone drive a truck and pick up trash along state routes that you can't get fully off the road them to put the icing on the cake they have to deal with DOT. All the while getting the route done on time. I am just happy they are there to haul my trash off and I appreciate them very much.

My husband works there. He doesn't make anywhere close to that. They are union and if they fill it is unsafe to drive they don't have to. If they killed your love one on a day when they felt it was unsafe, but drove anyways, how would that make you feel? You wouldn't want them to take that chance and they aren't willing to sit behind bars just so you will be happy about your trash pickup that could have waited a day. Ungrateful people, all you do it sit around wait to find something to complain about.

They require high school graduates. You may think they are just trash people but I challenge you to do their job for at least one month. These are people are are willing to work for a living to support their families. They are not sitting on their behinds trying to get a handout. There are reasons they make the decision to not run in certain weather. The chance of damaging property and have people wanting to sue them then the company wanting to fire them. I don't see how those people deal with trying to please the public I did for 30 years but it is worse now and with the job they have I'm sure it is worse.

Someday, you may find yourself doing something you don't like just to try and support your family.

Thank you guys who do that job.

My husband is the swing driver for wca and they work n all weather and it is a very demanding job, they start their routes and I say routes because there's a lot of times they do 2or more routes n one day, depending on the time of year they start between 2:30 -4:30 and work at times till. 7-8 at night, if it is nasty or slick they r told not to chance endangering themselves or other people, so there are times they skip some stops due to weather and the driver can only pick up stops that he has a work order on, for the people that leave them water when it's hot or cookies during the holidays or a couple dollars ever once n a while, believe me. My husband appreciates it very much and thank you

I have much respect for these guys. It is hard work and sometimes unpleasant. They are worth what they are paid. I don't begrudge them a bit.
