I've lived in the weird little town of Rolla most of my life and as a child there were always rumors of areas around town being haunted. In my experience, the creepiest place in town is the storage area underneath and behind Autozone on HWY 72. In my teens some friends of mine and I ventured down there to get the crap scared out ourselves. At the time there were things like massive motors hanging from the ceiling by chains and several old military vehicles. I've been told that this underground area goes all the way under HWY 72 and even under the building that used to have Hillcrest Pharmacy and Dollar General in it. I, myself never had the guts to go that far back. Maybe if I had a flashlight. No clue who owned it then or now or if it's even accessible anymore.

Its owned by Warren Dean. Always has been. It is true that it runs all the way across though.

If you arnt scared to get dirty, underneath Autozone is the place to be. However you dont want to get caught and you dont want to steal anything from there. Its owned by Warren Dean who is more than likley the most wealthy man in the Rolla area. He is a big time military collector. He probably has 50 or so military spec diesel engines hung from the celing, and were talking about huge diesel engines that probably weigh a ton or so each. At the very back of the underground building, their is a huge locked vault, where rumor has it their is a helicopter in it. Their is 10 or so military vehicles back there that are probably WWII era. It is extreamly neat to go look if your daring enough. Wouldnt supprise me if their was 750,000 to 1,000,000 dollars worth of just scrap metal stored their. From what Ive heard Warren is a very private man and it wouldnt suprise me one bit if he had some sort of security system set up their. Fair warning.

If you see an old man riding around in an older, dark blue Lincoln (or caddy) thats kinda beat up and has low aired tires, that is him. He goes VERY SLOW. You'll know him when you see him.

I have lived here all my life. I have been to every place that is reported to be haunted. Most of them are bull. As for the Autozone, you seriously do NOT want to he pissing off Warren Dean. He is a cool old guy if you.approach him respectfully. Get on his bad side and you might as well move away because your name is mud. That being said. There is the silhouette in the old jail. Snelson Brinker cabin. Goatmans grave. Pink bridge. (Sometimes called blood bridge) cry baby holler. Newburg cemetary. And that's all I remember off the top of my head.

Pine hill/goatmans grave is privately owned and they will persecute you. They got cameras set up. So I wouldn't go there unless you get permission.
