I'd tell you who I voted for but won't. Why? Well in the past I have been accused of being the dreeded Andy Davis, so I had to find him and see what the problem is. I found him and learned I had caused him some problems with a number of elected officials. So, out of respect to him, won't openly state who I am voting for and possibaly make things even harder for him. I'm sure he will understand the reasoning and, although he didn't know I was d'Artagnan at the time, does now.

Voting Wilson. Verkamp has been in that position far too long.

Why would people keep voting for him year after year if he wasn't doing something right? I figure that's a sign of doing a good job. And I don't have any complaints against him. But I admit that I'm kind of ignorant when it comes to Rolla politics. My address is Rolla, but I live by Dent County and work in Salem, and between being in college and chores on my farm, I don't know all of the Rolla issues. But I plan on getting up to speed before election day.

I am happy with so/so roads because I can learn to drive slower and more carefully. Better roads cost money and that means higher taxes.

I've known Don Wilson for 35 years and he's the man with the experience. He's been in the concrete business for 37 years and has been a consultant for Phelps and Maries County on low water bridges. Who better to make decisions about roads and bridges?

Roads and Bridges. There is alot more to the county than the road and bridges. If that is his only agenda that will not serve the county well. Especially a presiding commisioner. That is probably why he lost the last election. I also agree with blacksheep. I do not want chip and seal because they concider that in how much your property taxes are going to be.

There is more to being presiding commissioner than just the roads and bridges but they are of concern. Our road is terrible. We have a lot of problems in Phelps County and something needs to be done. I think maybe Verkamp has been in for so long that he just thinks he will stay there. There has not been anything done with the problems so far so give someone else a try. Crime is up, work with the sheriff's department. Make them do their job. If it does not work Vote him out like you can vote Verkamp out now. I think we need a change in office. Verkamp has been in office way over 15 years. He is too comfortable in this position. We need a change. I will give Wilson a try.

Don Wilson's live-in grand daughter, Kendra Wilson, was arrested for home invasion and assault on Saturday July 17. This is her third assault. Don Wilson delivered no consequences for Kendra's previous illegal actions (which alledgly include the use of illegal substances)nor put in place any preventatives to avoid this most recent disgusting and violent behavior. Most disappointing, Don Wilson was not even aware of the incident until two days later. If he cannot even keep track of what family members living in his own house are doing, how can we trust that he will stay apprised of what this county needs. The root of the problem is this fact: nothing is more important to Don Wilson than himself and his social standing. Family has taken a back seat to his quest for prestige. Don Wilson wants to be commissioner because he has friends in politics. He wants to be in the political arena the same way other men want to be members of a country club. It seems to me that we should not reward his failure. Don Wilson was unable to run a household of four...why would we trust him to care for the interests of thousands of Phelps County residents? Vote Verkamp!!

I'm blood related to Wilson and I won't vote for him. I'm also related to Dobkins(through marriage) and I will be voting for him. Verkamp has been in there for too long and I've decided that I want some conservative new blood in office.

Verkamp does not care about the county just wants the title. Doesn't even attend Democrat Meetings. He thinks he owns this position. Look at how screwed up the new jail got. Time for a change. Too much good old boy stuff for me. Wilson In.
