This Strike is nationwide and is for fair treatment of walmart associates. Including more promotions to full time, more hours, increase in staffing, no more cutting time worked, decrease in insurance cost, management to listen to associates, stop importing from foreign countries, stop throwing away things that could be donated to less fortunate and charities.
We as a community need to take action. You don't have to be employed there to join in. Ask yourself, How many times you go to Walmart and you can't find an associate to get help with anything? How many times do you get frustrated because they don't have enough registers open? How many times do you have to wait in a line to get service in any department because there is only one scheduled. Associates nationwide are ready for this strike are you.
For more information online go to makingchangeatwalmart.com all kinds of stuff about this company you probably don't know about.
If you didn't know there were thousands of associates 3 weeks ago that walked out and picketed in 12 states. Walmart is also being sued in Chicago for breaking national labor laws.

Amen,it's about time the workers that make WALMART so powerful stood up for themselves.I worked for WALMART 15 years ago and they treat you like crap and don't give you anything. They make sure you don't get enough hours to earn a descent pay check.I am so glad the people that make the rich richer are finally gonna stand up to them and be heard,go for it guys, make me proud.

Moved here as a transfer and had to take whatever was available and a paycut of $1.85 and lose my offer to management. Bet if Sam was alive he would fire home office for allowing all this to happen. 1st core value of walmart is respect for the individual. What a joke.

I would love to see this happen. People need to stand up for yourselves and fight for what you deserve. Don't be scared of big business, with out all the small pieces it will fall.

When there's 23 million people out of work that actually want jobs, this probably isn't a smart time to try such a thing.

You don't like what WalMart pays?
Don't work there, that simple.

It's not so much the pay but the treatment of the employees. forced to do the work of 3 people but can't work over your scheduled hours. being called at home and not paying you for your time, working off the clock. If you work over your scheduled hours each day you have to cut that time you can't keep it. All this is for the Bonus the management gets while we get nothing no bonus. Only thing we get when we tell them we can't get all the work done is get it done and deal with it. If you don't you get written up. If you miss work cause your sick with a doctor excuse you get a point for every 3 consecutive days. 7 point's your fired. So forcing associates to work while sick. Treating our veterans with disrespect. won't let them get time off for doctor appointments. Changing your schedule without telling you so you get point's. I could go on and on and on. So It's not so much about the pay just that the average is not $12 hr but $8.5 hr. Also no Fulltime so no benefits and only give you around 20 hrs a week just enough to keep you from getting any govt help.

Sounds great, but it's confusing whether this is a real strike, which might work, and a call for a consumer boycott, which is certainly going to fail. Every few years there are calls not to buy gasoline on this or that day and it leads to nothing. People who don't shop at WalMart already don't shop there. Those that do aren't bothered by their policies and that's a fact.

A real strike means the workers don't show up. You also establish a picket line and make sure that those who cross the line to break the strike get their ass kicked.

If you don't have the balls to have a real strike, they're going to keep taking advantage of you, and you pretty much get what you deserve because you keep taking it.

So, here's to a real strike. But if not having a real strike, don't even talk to us about it.

I would like to see your efforts get some stuff changed and better treatment but like the other comments said if your not going to hit them with a full strike they will probally just fire everybody involved and hire new people, whats the saying? Go big or go home...

in my opinion unions are good and some are bad, i worked for a company and i was in the union, i made excellent money, overtime, paid holidays and time and half on sundays and holidays, sick days and personal days, excellent vacation time, guarenteed raise each year and job security. free dental and $10.00 copay and free eye check ups. but how can Walmart strike if there is no union, these people will lose their jobs, in tennessee its right to hire right to fire for no reason and thats disgusting...

Hopefully these workers will force Walmart into bankruptcy. Then my government can take control of this company by giving them billions of dollars. When gov-mart reopens I will be in charge and every employee's pay will be subject to whatever rules I want to implement.

Praise Allah( all female employees shall cover their face and head at all times)
