Baldor should be fine, especially since Dodge is supposed to be building the Nissan Titan; but I've heard some plants near Sevierville may be closing.

As for TRW...IMO, you can't believe anything you hear about them and they've been far from honest at times in the past.

I hate to be the one to tell you,but Bador/Dodge/Reliance makes bearings. they are not tied to automative industry at all.and no they have not had any layoffs, as a mater of fact,Baldor doesn't even have a layoff policy.

What would happen then if the bearing industry hit the skids like the auto industry has and they did not need all their employees???? Would Dodge/Baldore just erupt into anarchy and confusion to decide who they had to get rid of?
Something to think about!

Simple.

All Cars do have bearings but not all bearing manufacturers produce car bearings!

They do make bearings--not car bearings though. Dodge is a name but in this case has nothing to do with automobiles (neither does dodge ball , lol). They have worked a couple of 4 day weeks but the short weeks tenatively scheduled for June have been canceled. Baldor did announce to employees when they purchased the company that they had never had a layoff in over 50 years and did not have a layoff policy because the would work through these times. Anything can happen as we all know--never say never.

Who cares about a no lay off policy if they are going to cut hours you may make more money drawing un employeement than working a two day work week. Its not that stable of a place.

Go back up and read! They have canceled the short weeks. There was only 3 that they took. Three 4 day work weeks is not that bad. Some people enjoyed the time off.
