word on the street is that a group of gentlemen with drag racing backgrounds have taken over as the new operators and will re-open next weekend. this could be very good for the track and racers.

There was a race somewhere else some of the regulars wanted to run. Has nothing to do with new management or leadership unless that has changed in the last 2 days. Open again this next weekend to my knowledge.

Mike and Jackie are gone. They were like Tim except it took 2 people to run it into the ground even more. Had a $1,400.00 light bill. Owed Tim about $2,000.00. Owed Mr. Stipe land rent, about $1,500.00. What needs to be done is to have full control of the track and get Tim out of the picture completely. As long as Tim still has the control of the track through the bank, the track is just going to jump from one operator to another and its just going to get worse and worse. The computer is junk and getting worse each weekend. Thanks to Tim TSI won't look at it cause of the late bill he owes them and they won't help till the bill is satisfied. Over half the lights are not working on and down the track. Score boards lights are about half out. The moral of the track is awful. The new operator Charles is a super nice gentleman but putting Randy Marrsette in charge of running the track is not a good business decision. All the times over the past 25 years he has cried and bitched saying he will never come back to Cherokee cause he got screwed, or the lanes are messed up, or my car doesn't do this, my car doesn't do that.... and now he is running the show ? I don't trust him as a racer, much less as a operator. He has made enemys over the years with alot of racers and now having Randy calling the shots, I'll drive past Cherokee...... I hope the track does good with operator number ??????? Seems like the same ol story when someone new comes along. Always good at first, then there true colors comes out when a certain group of guys gets into the new operators ear and they want things run there way to benefit them, not benefit the track. Wow, thats what happened to Mike and Jakie.... Well see if it happens to this new operator....

No one can take it over and make it work, it takes too much money to operate. There are too many people involved an too may bills against it. As quickly as it reopened I'd say the new deal has been made with the last manager and not even directly with Tim. If there were any contracts lawyers don't work that fast. The only saving grace is that the land owner are very easy going.

I just can't understand how the track could go from bad to worse. Putting Randy Marrisett in charge of the track when all he did was bitch when he lost everytime was by far the worst decision that could have been made. It's bad when you live close to the track and have to drive bye it to get a fair chance of winning. In my opinon, there is no way you could find anybody worse to run the track. Racers need to boycott the the track til they get rid of him. If you want someone to be fair to all racers, Jerry Robbinet is your man. Until this change is made I will not be back and advise all racers to do the same. This move is the dumbest move the track could have made. I've talked to several racers and they feel the same. Good luck opening with no one to race!!!!!!

I guess the question is:::::: HAVE YOU BEEN DOWN TO THE TRACK AND SEEN WHATS GOING ON...... or....... R YA JUST ON HERE JUST TO TRASH TALK AND PUT THE TRACK DOWN?????? My momma taught me: if ya ain't nothing nice to say.....say nothing at all.

Reguardless of how good the track is or how good the track works. Without good managment, what good is a good working track. I'm not bashing the track or trash talking the track. I supported the track all year long when Mike ran the track. Knowing the pay was going to suck, more than likely a fight was going to break out and the worse issue was changing rules before the race, and during the race cause of a few certain racers didn't like how things were. I still went the the track. The last ture track operator, not owners, that made the track work good in all areas was the Suburban guys. They actually worked and tried there best to make the track the best it could have been. Since then, the track has been operating on borrowed time and now the light is at the end of the tunnel. Like I said, the track can be the best working track around without a doubt, but with Randy running the show, well......not saying nothing at all......

What the track really needs is everyone off of the lease but one person. Preferably someone with $ that doesn't need their head removed from their arse to come in and put some $ into the place that can afford to wait the 5 years or so it'll take to recoupe their investment. If it were ran correctly and everything goes smoothly (everything working) that place would eventually get the racers back in and draw bigger spectator crowds. There is serious money to be made there if it were done right. One can always hope but I ain't holding my breath....

An once again the clowns are in full swing at the circus at Cherokee, or whatever its new name is suppose to be. Cars show up Friday to test and tune and gamblers race. Got to the gate and was told the racing for the evening / night was cancelled. Got home and was told the "new" operator was trying to call the racers and get them to come back that they changed there mind to race. And on Saturday, heard the "new" operator and Randy had diffrences over an issue.......... And the circus continues. Tune in next week for the "NEW" rest of the story..... Good day......

That place is a joke!!! And who was the one to say Randy has changed?? I do believe people can change, but come on.... Really did you all think Randy would? That place isn't nothing but a dump now. I will gladly drive to Bristol & spend my money. At least you don't have to worry about seeing a circus show!!!
