we ate there last night and it was awful we ordered prime rid and it was not prime rid when we got it we came at 5 and our food came at 630 the tea was good but the service and food was a long way from being eatable. out check was 65.00 and we will never go back. the sign saids HOME COOKING will everything we got had been frozen and reheated. the steaks were cold and had to be reheated the rolls were hard and we had to ask for them. the salad was all lettuce and a small cup of dressing they really need to get their act toghter there was people sitting around doing nothing and while we were there 6 tables got up and left. because the kids would not wait on them we ask a waitress for more tea and she said that was not her table and she didn't bring us any tea either I feel sorry for the owner she has hired all kids and they don't know what to do they have not been trained i work for Damons for 13 years and i know good service when i see it and boy this was the worst i have ever seen

It was their first day open and they were slammed and not to mention some of the kitchen staff quit the first day. Give it time, they will get it together. I think that is pretty rude you would get on a public forum and trash them about their first day open. Wow I'd say they will be glad you won't be back!!! Go to Damons and eat.

Busy Busy Busy, they will eventually get it together and I will be more than happy to wait. I am not sure anyone can handle all his business the first few days. If some quit, I am sure they will have some to step right in. Looks like it is going to be a very nice place to eat, even if we have to wait a bit.

It's my understanding that the woman who runs the restaurant was the dietitian at the nursing home prior to opening this restaurant. Does a dietitian cook or just make out menus? Personally, I don't think that qualifies someone to open an eating establishment. As for the servers, I can't think of one restaurant other than Cafe Jubilee that has decent servers.

[we ate there also and experienced the same thing. No straws, no mayo, after we asked several times, food was cold! Yes workers standing everywhere just looking around, not doing nothing. The fries were pitiful!! Yes I know the place just opened, but customers should be the top priority!! If they can't get the order right, then they diffently should call a meeting or get rid of some waiters/waitresses!! Home cooked food?? I didn't see that on the menu either. Hopefully they can can get it together. Rogersville needs some good restaurants around here. Once you get service like that, most of the time you won't come back!!

Anybody on topix not ever happy, I no they are goin to have to lern and get better, and we should give them a chance. Heck, not a one of us on hear can do any better than they are. I was pleased with my meal, took a while to get it, but if I had went out of town, I would have had to wait to get a seat, and if I had wanted to cook, I would have staid home.

Cafe Jubilee does have good servers, but an ass of a manager. He has to hurt their business. Very rude.

Good job you stupid country hick. You have no clue what you ordered do you? It is Prime Rib not Prime Rid. Looks like 13 years @ Damons was a waste of time, if you served food for that long one would think you would know the proper name of the food you served and the food you attempted to order.

As for the rest of you country bumpkins bitching and moaning...You never go to a restaurant on the 1st day much less the 1st few weeks it is open. It is always chaos and a train wreck until the staff gets up to speed. You all are too stupid to realize you are the staff's training tools. The manager can tell them what to do but until the have customers they have no one to practice on. The cooks can not work on cooking until they have orders and the wait staff can not wait tables on an empty dining room. They can practice and do simulations but nothing is going to give them experience like the real thing. Cut these folks some slack and let them improve. If you do not like things the way they are then get off your fat asses and ask for a job since some of you seem to be experts.
not set up well

Maybe the first day went horrible because there set up was horrible. The owner never had a day to train or even advise people how to do there job. How are you going to open a restaurant and never have a training session for cooks or staff? Doesn't make sense.

Rough first day;a lot of very comments from people who ate there!I Ate @ Cheddars in KPT the first day they were open (NATIONAL CHAIN;THEY HAVE TRAINING SESSIONS);bad food, poor service,& long wait.Went back about a month later it was like a different place;looked the same but waiting time eas shorter, food was great,&the service was better!Given time maybe Rogersville's newest eating place will improve to the point people can honestly have positive reviews. If not they will not survive over 6 months & whether they will be open on Thanksgiving Day will not even be asked!!!!

no one walked out inthe kitchen the first day, its just no one knew what to do, there was no training and the kids have no experience, its hard to open anything in Rogersville we do not give anyone a chance...
