Someone brought it up in another thread but thought it deserved a topic of it's own.

Why was such a big stink made up of the missed election fiasco and only one person is now running for the job? Heck, one of the other candidates dropped out so there isn't even a need for a vote. Now, I understand that protocol wasn't followed (which makes the citizens look like total morons for not catching this ahead of time), but the fact that only one person ran really proved the point of those who said that if anyone would've wanted the job they would've known about the upcoming election (which was missed). It seems like Rogersville is full of do nothings who'd rather bitch about things that actually do something about them.

Last I heard, this was still a free country. If he decided not to run on the last day to file, It was his choice not ours. I noticed some good peoples names in the Review that are interested in running for this position.

The Siamese twins Sells and Phillips..Two heads, one voice...how funny. Now if they can get MS. Terry to open the doors at the RCS Everything will be back to normal, but she may be right and the 6-700 parents and grandparents may be wrong. What are the odds ???

they will appoint a board member to replace Dan. It's too late for anyone to apply to run.

This is prime example of being clueless.
Todd Biggs qualified to run, so Dan stepped down.

Was that so Bill Phillips' son wouldn't be defeated in the election and lose the $300 a meeting seat his daddy got for him?

How is that intelligent and informed?

You're saying that one man gives up 300 dollars just so another make can get it? Do you really believe what you're typing? If so you might want to get checked for all out mental retardation.

When you've got money out the wazoo,$300.00 is pocket change. I believe you should have children/child in the city school to be on the board. That way we know you are interested. Otherwise, why sit on the board? Money? Looks like it. To help your social life? Crazy!!! Then why? I believe Todd Biggs is the only one that has child/children in the school system. I may be wrong and it won't be the first time. The 'ole timers' need to give the younger generation a chance. So, Dan withdrew the deadline date, Todd had already put his name in the hat, so now no one else can run against him. Very clever....mmmmmmm...Sounds like a 'stacked deck.'

How is that a stacked deck? Whether or not he withdrew and whether or not Todd Biggs signed up has nothing to do with anything. If people wanted to be on the board they had every opportunity to sign up before the deadline date. I truly fail to understand how anyone can say that this is a "stacked deck" or "planned" for that matter.

Third and Frank on ballot for 1,2. Biggs and Matney on for 3,4 - as was Dan. And stacked deck? Hell-O-Sadie, there's barely enough cards to play - or did you miss the fact that has been pointed out numerous times here - no one else filed to run?

Maybe the Review should start illustrating their news articles.
