I thought that Republicans could count better than Democrats, apparently not true.

To error is human. To error twice in an election is cause to be dismissed. Make it happen, who ever is this persons boss.

Hawkins vote count incorrect for second election in a row
Four precincts weren’t counted in the preliminary election results released Tuesday night, but the corrected tallies didn’t change any outcomes.
By JEFF BOBO
ROGERSVILLE — For the second Hawkins County election in a row, a computer vote tally reader is being blamed for an election night miscount.
Tuesday primary election results from four precincts weren’t counted on a night when a sitting sessions court judge, property assessor and clerk of courts were ousted.
This time, however, there is no new winner to announce.
During the August 2010 county general election, that same electronic vote counter doubled the tallies from five precincts.
When the error was corrected, it changed the outcome of one county commissioner race, restoring an incumbent who’d been ousted by a newcomer based on the incorrect results.
The four election day tallies that were omitted from Tuesday’s unofficial results were Allandale In and Out, Dykes, Cherokee, and Surgoinsville In and Out.
The tally slips that are printed from each voting machine are correct. Elections Administrator Donna Sharp described them as her failsafe.
Hawkins County Election Commission Chairman Luke Lee said Friday that a support technician from voting machine provider Election Systems and Software (ES&S) fed those slips into a counter, which tallies the final results.
The precincts missed were the last four to arrive and be fed into the machine , and Lee speculated that they may have been fed incorrectly.
After the 2010 miscount, the Election Commission purchased a new machine. That machine wasn’t used Tuesday night, however, which Lee explained was an oversight on the part of staff.
Lee noted that staff were also under pressure Tuesday night to get preliminary results out to candidates, media and onlookers.
Please see HAWKINS, PA G E 2A As soon as the tapes were double-checked against the machine counter’s results, the mistake was discovered.
Lee said the emphasis in the future will be on double-checking the results before they’re released to the public.
The closest election was for property assessor, with winner Jeff Thacker unseating incumbent Jack Price by 253 votes. The corrected tally showed that Price and Thacker each gained the exact same number of votes from those four precincts, 348, maintaining that difference of 253.
“That’s the very first one we looked at, and it didn’t change the outcome — 348 apiece,” Lee said.
That sets Thacker’s final corrected total at 2,899, ahead of Price with 2,646. Terry Joe Harrell gained 192 for a final total of 1,731, and Charlie Freeman gained 113 for a final total of 923.
In the sessions judge race, winner J. Todd Ross gained 549 votes for a total of 4,017, Buddy Baird gained 300 for a final total of 2,404, and James “Jay” Taylor gained 173 for a final total of 1,656.
In the clerk of court race, winner Sarah Davis gained 566 votes for a final total of 4,498, ahead of Kathy Cradic, who gained 430 for a final total of 3,396.
In the unopposed juvenile court judge race, Daniel Boyd gained 776 votes for a total of 6,965.
Neither of the two constable races was affected.

How do you justify your deep-seated connection to J. Thug Taylor? Daily visits to his Depot Office along with daily meals were enjoyed in the name of your corrupt Republicans, all the while you were supposed to be noncommitted to any particular Republican candidate. Then suddenly and mysteriously you abruptly ended your affiliation to J. Thug Taylor, arousing and alluding suspicion to this obsession of Taylor left many Hawkins County citizens in confusion and disbelief, still talking and wondering about yo0 and your motives today.
Then it became, Dear Buddy's turn on Broadway every day after your preference of candidates suddenly changed over.
How do you and Mr. Lee explain two seasons of blundered election returns, one on a Democrat watch, Mrs. Lumpkins, who was fired by your hubby, and the second on your watch, a Republican, Ms. Sharp. What will be your and Mr. Lee's fix for this year's repeated blunder of election return counts?
Now let Hawkins County speak to you, Cecile, and to Mr. Luke Lee, your hubby, STEP DOWN AND STOP YOUR STUPID CHARADES OF LOCAL HAWKINS COUNTY HICK-TOWN POLITICS.
NOW THE TRIBAL HAS SPOKEN..........
