Whats going on here? They have permantly laid off people at Atkins plant and Rogersville Plant. My husband was one he had been there 16 years, I don't understand why management can't give a heads up on whats going to happen at these facilities. We all have bills, houses, children.
So do they, I realize managemnet gets a certain incentive on goals made and also less employees. Is this so they can get a better incentive by laying people off that have been there forever?
Because upper management knows what the fate is at TRW they want to save thier own asses? Well if thats the case they will get thiers one day. You don't treat people like that, that have worked and sacaficed for the company, it's just not ethical. I hope they don't sleep at night, because a many of us aren't either. We are worrying how we are going to pay our bills, feed our children. It's just not right and I think everyone should know how employees are being treated at these facilities. It's time our voices are heard!

Do you ever read those little books they send when it's time to vote for the head honchos? Take a look at the rewards they give themselves for getting the positions. That's where your husband's salary went along with the employee benifits, insurance, etc. I saw this one coming when the checks stopped going in the bank on Thursdays and went in on Fridays. You have any idea how many thousands of dollars that translates into for a huge company? Paring down the employees share means LOTS for TRW. Trading your husband's big pay for a temp's wages means that much more stays with TRW. All we can do is pray for survival.

It isn't just TRW this nation on a whole is in deep trouble.This crap is going on all over this nation. Makes me sick....unfortunatly I can't afford to go to the doctor on the crappy insurance we are stuck with.

I hate to remind the TRW people of this but this is how Assured Castings died a slow death. When they bring the temps in to save money, quality goes down hill. This is because they have like one day of training, then they are let loose. If you can afford a big ticket item like a car or house repairs do it now while you have a job, pay cash if you can, do nothing (if you can help it) to get into more debt. Use your insurance while you have it. Take care of any pressing medical needs while you have time. Trust me you will miss it when it's gone. This is also the time gas and oil and electricity go up. Save as more than you have been saving, things may get worse. About this time every year, companies layoff,(we called it the Thanksgiving Bird), to provide the stock holders with a nice dividend in the last quarter. This way the CEO's can say, "Look I worked hard to make the company money, I deserve my ridiculous bonus." I know I've cut back to the bone and I'm still cutting. Thank god I was prepared when Assured was closed. I never have suspected it would be Americans who would destroy their own country because of greed.

The word has been going around that TRW will be moving to another country in 2010. Does anyone know if that's going to happen?

don't feel left out cooper up the road is laying off office personell and downsizing their pay scales to the employees....

Only part of the employees go back on the 5th...most got laid-off until Febuary(TRW says Feb.) There are still temps working while people that has worked foryears are laid off. My husband has worked there for almost 30 yrs and
he is laid off now. I wonder if D.Patterson,
K.Markham,T.Bullet are going back on the 5th? Maybr they should hire temps to do thier jobs..they could save money that way

It sounds to me that TRW is circleing the bowl right now and just waiting for the final shutdown notice fron the home office in Michigan.
What has been happening there is almost exactly what went on at Assured Castings before they made the announcement to pull out.

Now, this is just an opinion. I don't have any inside knowledge or anything but when a company starts cutting pay and using temps instead of permemnent employees,it's usually about the end of the line for the company.

The days of a company being loyal to their employees have been over since about the mid 70's It's ALL about the bottom line and nothing but the bottom line now. The only heads up anyone will get is the one that they are required by law to give 60 days before a plant completely closing.

Ms. Patterson gets her orders from above. She just delivers the messages. Lighten up. My spouse works there also, just waiting for his turn. In case you haven't noticed, it's bad everywhere.

It is kinda funny how some people think that she is all evil and stuf while all in the world she does is what the home office up north tells her to do. I guess that since she delivers the message people want to kill the messenger like back in the old days.

Folks, in order for the local TRW to sell units to the automakers, folks gotta BUY NEW CARS.

That isn't happening very much right now, of course.

TRW, like many companies out there who depend on the new car makers, is going thru hard times.
It's just damn foolish to think they will continue business as usual (as in, lose money by paying people while they don't sell racks).

Companies are in business to make money, not to just give folks somewhere to work.

It sucks that the economy is as it is, but it's not TRWs' fault that demand for their products (and new cars in general) has fallen so much.
