It says EAST OF FOOD CITY. That would be where Roger Stewart's trailer trash...errrrr...trailer parts sales was. Hope it happens but I'll believe it when I see it.

New businesses increase employment & tax revenue opportunities which is great. But I have doubts that a Tractor Supply will last long in Rogersville. I've always found their prices to run on the higher side and we just don't have the financial base to meet the numbers they will want. The co-op has a long history with a lot of the bigger farms around here and as soon as they are ready to open I expect Walmart will increase their stock & lower prices on their camping & hunting supplies. I don't expect their corporate managers will be happy with a chain that operates in the red all the time.

Will definetley hurt Co-op, they would not be hear if Co-op had not have started raising their prices here. Can go to any other co-op and they are cheaper than here on the same stuff.

It's the same with Walmart- the same items in Morristown or Kingsport are about 10% less.

tractor suply has been looking at the lot east of food city for several years and corporate has been looking at population and financial support . roger stewart and terry whitson is trying to work a deal and looking to get filthy rich from the lot . rogersville desperatly needs new QUALITY buisness but welfare , food stamps and disability will not support it . yes it would hurt co-op but maybe it would wake those people up and bring them down a notch or two . no such thing as big farmers in hawkins co. anymore . at best , guardeners and hobbyist . no-one will ever hurt wal-mart , biggest corporation in the world . them people know that rogersville is on the decline and wont invest thier money on a lost investment .

The manager at the Walmart in Kingsport told me that the reason that the prices are lower in Kingsport than in Rogersville is because there is more competition in larger cities with multiple large corporation stores. So, more competition drives prices lower in order to compete for your business.

Romoco is a tractor store not a feed or farm store. Tractor supply will have no impact on them.

Disagree! I don't think it will put Romoco and the Co-op out of business but it sure will highly impact both of them. TSC sells an economy line of farm implements like disks, grader blades, rotary mowers, root rakes, carry-alls, subsoilers, potato plows, and similar items. TSC sells farm machinery parts like tractor seats, top links, hitch pins, rake teeth, plow points, roller chains and hundreds of other similar items.
In general, I do not like their (TSC) quality. They sure have a lot of items, often have things not in stock elsewhere or even carried elsewhere. They carry some good brands and some good items but itís like the cheese on the mouse trap! They have a lot of items that I will never ever again consider buying regardless of the TSC advertised price! I especially will never buy another round bale feeder or farm gate from them. My family has also had bad experience with fuel tank pumps, jacks, and other similar items. They are like Walmart in that if you are foolish enough to buy a lawn mower or chain saw or weed eater from them, there is no repair service after the sale. In the past I have often been burned and therefore I do not trust them. Buy cheap, buy twice!

You will see Hawkins co. coop reduce prices by 20 percent. They will be 20 precent to high after the discount. Thus will be a win win for every one.I have gates that a bought from tractor supply 10 years ago and those gates are in good shape.

The convience of them being open all da Sat and Sun and till 8 or 9 at nites will be helpful.
Even wth some things being higher feed and such and carring different things as Co-op being open more hours is a big convience for farmers.
