I posted on here about 3 months ago because my daughter and I watched a guy in a truck hit our dog out on Burem and kept going.

On Thursday (or Friday), an older man in a red truck hit our boxer, Lucy. It took us 2 hours to find her. She was in shock, bleeding and sluggish. The only reason we knew to look for her was because this man was kind enough to stop and let us know. She is recovering now. THANK YOU, WHOEVER YOU ARE. She would have died had we not found her when we did.

Bless your heart for not flying down this road at a crazy speed and thank you for having the common decency to tell us that it happened.

You really are at to fault in both of theses scenarios. You should be a responsible pet owner that shows their pet the love they deserve by providing a fenced in yard, moreover, safety.
Your animals should not be near any road, hence, roaming free.

Yeah if they were cared for properly they wouldn't be running around in the road to get hit by passing cars

When this happens they should put the owner on a leash for a month!

Get a fence and your animals won't be suffering! Or walk them on a leash!

If your animal did any damage to the vehicle, YOU are responsible for fixing that vehicle .

I hate to be a negative Nannie but if your dog had caused the driver to wreck while hitting/avoiding your dog you would have been totally on the hook. At the least get an underground fence and run it the length of the road to keep the dogs out of it and still able to run the fields behind the house. Sorry for the dogs.

The underground fence is absolutely amazing! My daugther and son-in-law have used one for several years with perfect results. The dogs know where the boundary is and go to about a foot of it but never cross. It makes for good neighbors! It keeps the dogs safe from their driveway tarffic! It keeps them out of the garage and out of the car turn around area. Also, it keeps them off the front pordh and off the rear deck. A must see to believe it.

2 dogs hit in 3 months or less. Will the third time be the charm? The only time I will stop if I hit a dog is if it damaged my vehicle. Someone is getting sued.. by my insurance, of course. Otherwise, as much as I love dogs... people, on the other hand, are stupid. I am not stopping and taking the 80% chance of someone trying to blame it on me. Whether I go 30 or 100 mph, your dog shouldn't be in the road.

Seems like the original poster is the only one that doesn't have a clue. You amaze me, two pets in three months. Everybody else here already summed it up pretty good.
