They already have agree to purchase price and everything with Mayes in Morristown. But I have not seen it heard anything in paper or meetings about this. To my understanding from current owners it's all but a done deal

Have asked aldermen about this. They say it isn't true. Hasn't been discussed in any public meeting. City owns half Clay-Kenner House. If they need to relocate offices, they need to go there. They have no money, and this will never fly with the public.

Sells' funeral home has been trying to buy it for a while now. That must be where this got started.

Hope you're right. Now, trying that move would be fun to watch. They took over the Hale Springs and obligated the taxpayers to paying over $200,000 without ever mentioning it in a public meeting, so I guess they think they can do it again. That was Sells and Phillips doings.

I know for a fact that Buddy Mayes already has a deal in place with the town of Rogersville to purchase the funeral home. They have all but signed the papers.

They may think they have a deal, but if they do, it's with certain individuals, not the city. This would have to be discussed in a public meeting and voted for by the majority of aldermen. It's not the BMA's money. It's the taxpayers' money. I hope and pray you're right because this will blow up right in their faces and that would be great!

Rumor for several months is that Christian-Sells Funeral Home is going to buy the business part of Colboch-Price Funeral Home and the town of Rogersville is going to buy the building to relocate City Hall. The first may happen because that's a private decision. Second ain't gonna happen. The public would never go for it and it's way too much conflict of interest, just about as much as having Town of Rogersville money deposited in the city attorney's bank.

I think this would be a wise purcase. I hope the city buys it.

Why would Christian Sells buy the business. They are the ones that put them under. If the close they get the business for free. It's a win win for them if the city buys property.

And it's a lose, lose for taxpayers if the city buys the property.

Would be Ideal place for City Hall. On Town Square. People can't find the one now. Need more room. No parking space at City Hall!!!!!

Court House on on corner and City Hall on the other. GO FOR IT. Beautiful Fit.

Chapel would be Ideal for Board Meetings. Plenty of room for partisipation of the people to attend meetings.

Police Dept upstairs. City Hall Downstairs.

Drive thru is already there.

Might make a Drunk holding tank in Basement.
