Who are these people? This is the first I have heard of them. Are they from the area? From elsewhere? What are their qualifications? Who else is running?

It seems Linda Woolsey has a practice in Greeneville and ran previously for this position. She has also worked as a Municipal Judge.

Alex Pearson was Assistant DA, presumably working under Bell. It is not clear where he lives, perhaps he lives in Greene County as well.

John K. Wilson is retiring after 30 years and so his position is up for grabs.

It's not clear to me when the election is for these positions. Is it during the upcoming May primary, or will the vote be in the general election in November? Neither candidate's site even says when their election is.

Mr. Pearson may have had few years of experience as an assistant DA in Hawkins County in the past. However, he needs decades more experience to even be considered for the position of Circuit Court Judge. Wasn't he looked over recently due to this lack of appropriate experience for other positions as well?

Mrs. Woolsey, on the other hand, has decades of experience along with a successful practice of law.

Well it looks like what we do know about Linda Woolsey is she posts using aliases and is not above slinging mud at her opponent.

Thanks for letting us know this about you Linda.

won't vote for anyone connected to a Hawkins County Church political machine that enabled Taylor to rise so quickly through the ranks just to steal everyone in Hawkins County blind, not to mention the State of Tennessee. Just sayin'.

Does Pearson attend that church?

What is said when NOT running for office is as important as what is said in scripted interviews during a campaign. When Taylor locked himself in the Judge's chambers as the TBI were closing in, Pearson was called by a victim's family. The victim's family had received several frantic phone calls from employees in the courthouse as well as a worried, close relative of Pearson's, who were all terrified over the panic which Taylor's actions had caused in their workplace and in the courtroom. Even though the assistant DA, Pearson knew, and was aware of all of the state's allegations against Taylor, as well as the victim's lawsuits' which had been filed, Mr. Pearson emphatically stated that he believed all this body of information was 'allegations'. He clearly stated that until Mr. Taylor was convicted and proven guilty, he would not believe the allegations and complaints were true because he knew Mr. Taylor to be "the most stable, upright, hard-working and professional person he works with".

Remember this when you vote for Circuit Court Judge. We need qualified, seasoned judges to serve US as citizens....not people who will choose to turn a blind eye against victims of criminals due to their own personal perceptions, church affiliations or alliances.

The election in May will be The County Democrat and Republican Primary..If there is no opponent for the August County General Election then the winner of the primary will be the winner in August. If a Democrat and a Republican are Nominated in May then they will run for the office in August.
The Election in August will be The County General and State Democrat and Republican Primary

I am a lifelong resident of Hawkins County and after going through a nasty divorce and seeing my children exposed to questionable behavior by my ex spouse, I became concerned for their safety. I preferred not to use a Hawkins County attorney because I believe they're all buddies so I asked my church family and was referred to Linda Woolsey. She is wonderful. She allowed me to make payments and was honest, truthful, and worked out a parenting plan that gaurantees my children's safety (my ex doesn't exercise his visitation rights anyway) while they are with their father. I fully trust her leadership as a judge! I graduated with Mr Pearson and while he is wonderful person, I can't support someone who upholds someone such as Jay Taylor.

You will be happy to know that this information is very much incorrect as Alex never supported ANY claim of Jay Taylor's innocence. Pearson never "emphatically stated" that the allegations were merely allegations, and he never, ever, ever said that "he would not believe the allegations were true." Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, Mr. Pearson was the first person to ask Judge Taylor to recuse himself from hearing cases when the investigation against Taylor started.

A few days AFTER it had become politically correct, Pearson did, in fact, motion for Taylor to recuse. Motion made too little, too late. Many cases were tried in a court of impropriety as some sat......... in denial.

If it is true that Pearson is a defender and/or friend of Taylor then that is definitely something we want to take into consideration in voting.

"In fact, Mr. Pearson was the first person to ask Judge Taylor to recuse himself from hearing cases when the investigation against Taylor started."

If what you are saying here is true, that means that the several other persons in this thread (or perhaps a single person posting under multiple names) are liars.

Eleven commissioners voted for Taylor. Most of them are running again. They need to go, too. We should take care of that in the primary. Some of them may be good people, but they were ignoring the best interest of the citizens when they voted for a judge under investigation.

Pearson only stood against Taylor when after the sentiment changed. Are a close family with Taylor's. familyHe still hugged him and rubbed shoulders after his famous 'motion'. Dont vote for that group.

Anyone who believes the above posting should read Alex Pearson's interview with the ROGERSVILLE REVIEW, WEEKEND, march, 22/23, 2014. This comment is obviously written by someone who is opposing him and does not value the truth. By the way, we all know who is doing these posts. That person has a habit of slandering all the candidates that she doesn't want to win.
