I know one ex employee from Cooper that doesn't work at Sam Dong. My wife!. She has turned in numerous applications and cannot even get an interview. I forgot, she got to talk to the HR lady once and was told that the supervisor would call her, but he never did. Who do you have to know to get on?

I have been working at Sam Dong since August and I can tell you it is not that bad of a place to work. I have had worse jobs for sure. Most people cannot get past the smell of the enamels. I have been working with chemicals since the early 90s so it really doesn't bother me. To me it is easy money. Although I preferred the 2 on 2 off 12 hour shifts compard to the 6 on 2 off 8 hour shifts running now. Since I have been there I have seen many people go the restroom and never return. I have also seen people being let go. The job isn't for everyone.
And as far as the Koreans go, think about it for a minute. Here you are being sent from a country that has no OSHA regulations no EPA to get all in your business and practicly no labor laws to a country that has all kinds of regulations and labor laws to follow. They're still adjusting as we are. Not to mention leaving any family you have behind while you go off to America to train workers. The biggest problem in the entire plant to me is the communication gap. From what I understand they do have translators. But they only work the day shift. And they are not always on the floor. Others do speak some broken english but it is difficult to understand them. Thank goodness for the Americans that have been there since the start. Otherwise they would not have come as far as they have.
I recently moved here and I am just happy to have a job. And I am thankful for Sam Dong for employing me. Everyone I work with there is very easy to get along with. This could just be my department though. But I can say on the days I do have to work I don't dread having to go to work.

Not meant to be a rant but all is not what others make it out to be. The only way is to try and decide for yourself. And to the original poster. I got hired in through @Work on R66.

Have a good one.

If you have problems getting laid you should apply for a position there ASAP. It seems, married or not, at least half the people there fool around. Maybe its the stress maybe its something put off by the wire and chemicals. One of the QA girls is knocked up by a married man there, several have quit because their infidelities leaked out and destroyed their family lives. So if you can't keep it in your pants "me so horny" this is the perfect place to work!
