please Virginia was a good worker! If you really knew her you wouldn't say that, or maybe you did and you got pissed at her for some childish reason and started making childish comments about her

Tell me, why should you give drug tests to work as a cashier or stocking shelves in a food market? If they come in stoned or on pills or crack, or course the manager will notice, so why drug test? As long as they don't come in stoned I don't see what's wrong with smoking weed.

If it was just smoking weed that would be ok but there is some bad drugs going on there one of the employee had a heart attack from doing to many rockes and smoking too much meth. now they want the tax payers to pay for them to draw a check how funny is that

Out of date food?? I'm afraid the future may hold something in the cards much worse than out of date food. Remember everything you experience that doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. I've evidently stumbled on thread populated most by the weak. I mean very, very weak. Good luck in the future you may well need it soon.

UGO is not only nasty but corporate does not care. I worked there and if you do not like something like out of date product..you have no one that wants to fix the problem they all just have the "Oh Well" attitude and if you do not share that attitude then they will find a way to get rid of you. I hope ALDI puts them under...they do not treat their employees well at all, and yes you do have to have a drug test to get hired but after that it's smooth sailing. I personally know several "Managers" are on drugs. As long as you do not care about how fresh your food is go shopping there...and if you dont care that you are being "helped" by druggies then go shopping there but if you care about your health the AVOID THIS PLACE!

One minor correction:
Aldi confirmed recently, upon my inquiry, that they have no intention of coming to Rogersville.
Their representative did say they were watching the Morristown and Bristol markets.

Used to work there. Can food is ok and the milk is good but some of there meat at times look bad. They have some good buys sometimes but don't work there thinking your going to make a living. This is in Chattanooga.

Like shopping at ALDI...have to pony up a quarter to get a buggy then get it back when you turn the buggy in....like that..keeps buggies out of the parking lot. Great buys too...esp on produce.

First question on the forum, still has not been answered: Is there any law governing retailers from selling out dated goods, and is there any harm in eating out dated foods? I have heard there is not any danger, so why put the dates on there? What about canned drinks?
When i work at UGO, the boss told me it was not again the law to sell out of date food in Tenn, but it was in the state of Ga. I ask why that was, and she said she didn't know.

There seem to be a lot of concerns regaurding the
quality and safety of the outdated products at UGO.
As a former employee of their defunct PA division,
I would add that you should not have to be overly
concerned about dates on these products. Most of the
manufacturers that they buy from have strict requirements in reguards to how long items may remain on the shelf, its part of the deal when items
are purchased from them. Many of these manufacturers
also spot check to make sure the rules are followed.
UGO checks to ensure they follow the guidelines or they would lose the right to purchase the manufacturers products. Believe me I know! Anything
that is perishable is monitered daily to ensure quality. My only complaint is that I wish they
would reopen stores in PA again. I miss the great prices.

Some people don't realize that people with money, have money because they spend their lives in search of the best deals. I drive a 1996 Saturn and make 6 figures. I also shop at United and any other discount store. Same brands and quality for 2/3rds cost or less!
