I have underground service. Don't remember what it cost me. HECO reimbursed me for the difference in above ground and underground.

The property is near Persia. There's already above ground poles there. I just need about 500 feet buried on my property. Any ideas? I don't even know how they calculate that. Does the county have to do it? Can I hire someone? It's all on my property.

There are a few questions you have to answer before anyone can give you a fixed priced. You said it was 500 ft, but how deep? 4ft? Do you think the chance someone will dig across is high or low? Do you need schedule 40? 80? ridgid? What size amps are you pulling, 100?(little trailor) 200? House or double wide? 600? If your going to have a shop with a heavy welder and air compressors and so forth? Can it be ditch witched? or do you need it mini-ex'd? Is there rock to be hammered out? Here is the basic formula. two men , at 45 per hour, plus 100 per day for equipment , plus 6 dollars per hour fuel charge. That does not include materials. 8 hrs will get you about 300 ft with no problems. A rock hammer will cost about 75 dollars an hour if your contractor has equipment that it will fit. I usually price buried electric at 50 per foot. if i have to supply wire it goes to 90 per ft. Make sure you have everything in writing and you use a reputable contractor with the correct lisence and insurance. CaLarry Elkins dow at holston elec. for a list of contractors. I don't do work here, but i will meet with you and help in any way i can. Email addy is jh.topix@gmail .com . Best of luck, hard to give advise or help with little info.Sorry.

sheesh, " call Larry Elkins down at holsten electric for a list of local contractors" . The rest of the spelling errors , well chalk it up to me being an idiot sometimes.
