Just stumbled across this forum, and wanted to say hello and tell you the FACTS about Cherokee Raceway. The track is owned by Dixee Dragz Motorsports Management Group out of Pompano Beach Florida. We own drag racing facilities in Florida, Kentucky and now Tennessee. We purchased Cherokee from the Inman family in July of this year, and it is now called Cherokee Motorsports Park. Peter "Cheap Pete" Scalzo is an officer of our company and has been in Rogersville overseeing the transition. We are going to continue the IHRA affliation next season, and have applied to the WKA for master track sanctioning and are in the process of reopening the asphalt cart track. Currently we are in negotiations with the IHRA to try and expand our programs for next season at Cherokee, and have been listening on several forums to what local racers would like to see happen at Cherokee. We are going to work hard to try and make some of these things possible. We are building a new web site which will outline in great detail all of the plans we have for the track, and we welcome all of you to join our forum there when we go live and let us know how we are doing. We want to be good neighbors. We are serious business people who plan to make this track successful and bring our mix of family-oriented fun and professional racing to this venue. We also are here to get the young people involved in our many programs which include a drag race driving school, Beat the Heat Police mentoring/Racing and our own trademarked program, "Race Track...Not Street! We hope the good citizens of Rogersville will come out and support the track. We hope to put on many events that all of you will enjoy.

For Dixee Dragz MMG I am

t-bear- you mean you bought the LEASE from the inman family. if you bought the LAND from the people who owned it i want to see proof of that. as far as cheap pete goes, you better get rid of him. his mouth will get him in trouble here in the south. i know of several people who have walked off because of pete that wont be back. but, thats another story, good luck to you next season.

We have a contract which purchases the assets of the track and signs the lease of the property over to us. I can speak for Pete here and will tell you, if you have a problem with him, it is best to confront him with it one on one and work things out. This is hardly the place to register such a complaint or comment. We seem to have had nothing but positive comments at the track and on other forums, so I suspect you or friends have an agenda. Lets get together and work it out.

to UT Vols
The website is still at CherokeeRacewayPark.net and you will be able to use that for now. When I launch the new site, that name as well as the one above will be live.

I didn't know people from Florida were considered yankees. Unless of course he was from up north before he moved to Florida.
