We will be moving to China by the year 2010. It's best if all employees start looking for new jobs.

The majority was voluntary layoff for 5 weeks due to extended shutdowns of some of the automobile plants and the slowing economy.

I asked somebody who has worked there for YEARS about a possible shutdown and they said they don't know for sure, but that the rumors of a shutdown there have been going around since 1975!

No, actually there was a permanent layoff today of some salary people. Hourly is probably next.
They laid off supervisors, quality people, technicians, and a few others, and some had been there since the doors opened.

This isn't 1975. This is 2008

Everything has been laid off. Except the Trucks.

All I said was that the rumors had been going on since 1975,not that something was not true.

The truth is none of these companies give a flip about the workers that keep then afloat. We are all going to have to learn a new language because all our jobs are leaving this country. Its a very sad world out there and a lot of people will be losing their homes. We all need to say a prayer for all the people that have lost their jobs!!!!
Amen

I agree with wiser. I had some very good friends to lose their jobs today. I will be praying for those people and their families and all the others out there who have lost.

This is what happens when people vote on social issues instead of things that will really affect them.

I hope everything works out for those laid off but what an awful time in the economy for that to happen.

The names in previous posting is not correct. There are some correct, but some aren't. I don't think some people what their name spread on here. I do know that no one means any harm, but since there are names written by whoever calls themselves the truth that is not layed off it would be best to say that there was some salary personnel that was layed off. There was a total of 9 people. It is very unfortunate for all. Please keep these people and their family in your prayers.

The people here complaining that the company is mean to lay off are being unrealistic.

The TRW plant made parts for SUVs and powerful pickups that get low MPG. Gas costs $4 a gallon. SUVs and powerful pickups with low MPG are not selling. Surely everyone hear realizes this?

Those of you saying this is unfair of TRW, please answer this question. How can TRW make payroll when there is no work and thus no income?

It makes as much sense to blame the workers of the plant for not buying enough new SUVs.

Be glad for the years you had in a good job with benefits.

Times are tough right now for all of us. It's not just TRW laying off.
