Don't tell me they done killed another dog. This would make 3 so far if anybody is counting. Does any one see a trend? Please do not donate any more money for them to by another dog. They obviously do not know how to take care of it.

Is this true? They just got that new dog. If it's true Food City shouldn't donate another dog.

I hope not, the third police dog is already dead in Ohio due to incompetence or neglect of his handlers.

http://www.journalgazette.net/article/2012080...

*His handler, Deputy Chad Fortkamp, made this statement,“I am deeply disappointed and apologize to the members of the Moose Lodge, the Eagles of Celina and others who helped fund the K-9 program,”

Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey said in a statement.“In 2010, the Moose Lodge donated $5,000 and the Eagles donated $1,500 for the purchase of Zak after K-9 Bleck died of an intestinal obstruction. It is my intent to get answers as to what happened.”(Dog deaths by intensional obstruction is usually caused by people letting dogs play with balls they can swallow but won't not pass through the bowels or allowing dogs to chew on bones or plastic.)

The sheriff’s department said it will suspend the K-9 program after losing two dogs in the past three years.*

I think he should be charged with animal neglect and suspend without pay. At $6000 or more a pop for a police dog and loosing 2 already, sounds like the canine department is not trained at all.

This is the 3rd one,and like you said food city just few months ago donate this one.I can't believe this. Why do they keep giveing this cop a dog? F.City also donated the 2nd one.Poor Dog...I don't even own a dog,I have a cat and stuff wouldn't even let him near them!

I feel sorry for the poor dogs...But it KILLS me to see ANY kind of critter mistreated. And this looks to be just blatant STUPIDITY & gross INCOMPETENCE of the part of the police officers involved. Most K-9 cars have bars over the back windows, roll the damthings down so the poor dog doesn't BAKE...

something is definitely wrong here. The cops around here never turn them cruisers off they'll park em in front of Walmart doing their shopping and those things will still be running. Funny how after 2 dead dogs later they decided to turn the cruiser off with the dog in it hmmm something don't seem right there does it? How abt we leave these cops tied up outside or in a hot car this is purposely happening

It didn't happen,at least it didn't happen here in Hawkins Co. All someone did was ask a rhetorical question to start the thread and then everyone started going crazy about it happening here.

All these dogs are better off. They are not in any pain. My guess is 2 of them just might be in hell. They where not friendly.
