Kingsport is getting a new longhorn steakhouse I was just curious if Rogersville has any new resturants or businesses coming in soon I would think our city mayor and alderman are probably busy recruiting new businesses into town they alway's seem to do a good job and probably are actively trying to grow our town as we speak , a good steakhouse would be good for Rogersville .

The best restaurant is right downtown and should be crowded daily but it's not. Why get more restaurants here when people won't even frequent the good ones we have?

just went by, the sign at the inn had a buffet for $19.99, who is going to pay that? We need a good family restaurant, like Shoney's or something like Long Horn - was one of my favorite restaurants in Johnson City.

Liquor by the drink is holding you back there was BIG name restaurants wanting to come in but they have drinks. But it don't matter that there golf course or the WASTE OF MONEY that ( HELL SPRING INN ) just a cover for a whore house so people of Rogersville change it on election day.

Wrong pig and chick isnt as fresh bc Iv had fresh from the smoke house and that aint it. Oh henrys is good but its not even close2 what I describe. You obviously have never been2 a real southern rest where there isnt any pre made gravy, pre fried chicken, pre made bQ then warmed up or powderd taters.wantin sum from scratch corn bread, biscuts, pies and greens made fresh, frsh cat fish and chicken And I only "need" one. and although those rest are fine...none of those places are what I'm descibing. yall can laugh but get some southern black folks and they know what the hell there doing! visit mississippi or Ga somtime mannnn they can cook!

To borrow a common RogVegas phrase...

We'll never have a decent place to eat bacause "the good God fearing church going people" don't want a beer sold.

As long as you let this mentality run things, welcome to the 1880s.

See y'all later. I'm going out of county to drop some cash on a decent meal and a BEER! Happy dining at the Burger Bar!

If there was a good restaurant here that served all the things you speak of, such as food cooked to order, then folks would complain about the wait. Have you read the Amis Mill threads? Half complain about the food, the other half complain about the wait. That's the reason it's next to impossible for a good sit down restaurant to succeed here. Look at the success of the fast food places....you get the type of food you are expecting and you get it fast. A formula for success around here it seems.

Amen. Unfortunately, it's never going to change here. R-ville and Hawkins is 1 yrs behind everyone else and determined to stay that way. Plus, more alcohol would probably have a negative effect on the meth trade that drives the local economy.

Don't bother with the new longhorn. We waited 40 minutes while watch 2 other parties the same size that came in after us get seated only to be told we could be seated only at a high top table at the bar that had been empty the entire time. If their service is that bad, I'd hate to think what the food was like. We left.

That is the art of calling ahead for seating reservations. Not a requirement anywhere in Rogersville/Hawkins County.
