What is the latest at TRW? Is the place going to close or what? Have they laid anymore people off? They always seem to lay the hard working people off and keep the people who are LAZY or suck up to the managers.

Get a life!! Do you have nothing better to do than sit around and bash the HARD WORKING people left at TRW? If you dont work there what do you care anyway?

So you must be on of the "hard working" ones...Probably are "hard working" if you are hourly (in my opinon all of the hourly people are)! There are a still few "hard working" salary left - but not many!

By the way, I do have a life! I was not bashing anyone, just telling the truth! I worked there long enough to know that if you suck up to the managers or your boss, you will be one of the last ones standing! I was never known to hang out with my boss on the week-ends or on my lunch - so me along with the other 30 or so Salary people were not the last ones stading!

My spouse is still standing, has never sucked up to anyone, never socialized with his superiors. I think some of it is all about doing a job, and doing it well. Other positions are just being cut for cost effectiveness. My spouse and I have had this conversation many times in the past few months. He knows it could be his job anytime, and he won't take it personally. This is just times we are living in now.

Yes, I do agree - there are still a few good people there. It is easy to say he will not take it personally, but just wait until (I hope it never does) happen to him. It is not a good feeling, just call any of the 30 people and see how they feel. Many of them were great employees and good people.

Yes, I realize the times we are living in are bad...but it still does not make it any easier to loose your job after 30+ years....

Little one, I am not arguing with you or about what you said, just my thoughts on it. I'm sorry you lost your job. Again, my spouse keeps wating for it. Will it hurt? Probably, but fortunately, if this happens, he will be able to get his retirement. Some aren't so fortunate. Those are the ones that trouble me more - the ones who have not been there long enough or aren't old enough to draw their retirement in lump sum.
I wish you well.

Yes, I heard the same thing from a friend that works there. They sent all hourly home except for the Truck Line and IPA - they don't know for how long yet....

I sure hate it for all of the people there!

The are still trying to decided what to do with the Salary people left - managers are in a meeting right now.

You can thank all of our "all-knowing, super experienced, I can run anything because I know everything and especially what is best for America because Americans can't think for themselves" government in Washington and our new king.

Those who voted for these idiots...I congratulate you because you definitely aren't getting more of the last 8 years! Hope you are happy!

If you think all this mess has came upon us in the last 3 months, your dilusional. Blame Obama or Bush, The thing that hurt the factorys the most is NAFTA and that was Clinton...We've been heading down this road for quite some time so people need to stop trying to place blame on the other party and get the shit fixed. You sound just like some dumb poitician when you sit there and say stupid stuff like that. The idiots in Washington just sit back and toss insults at each other and get nothing done and that's why we are in this shape, so if you want to be 1 of them just pop off some more dumb ass.

This could work but the Government would rather throw billions after a problem than a few millions. The billions will not solve anything for a very long time. There has to be jobs to buy cars and homes.

Please find below my suggestion for fixing America 's economy. Instead
Of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money
On lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan. You can
Call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan:

There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force.- Pay them
$1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following
Stipulations:

1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.

2) They MUST buy a new American CAR. Forty million cars ordered - Auto
Industry fixed.

3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage - Housing
Crisis fixed.

It can't get any easier than that!

P.S. If more money is needed, have all members in Congress and their
Constituents pay their taxes...
